Has anyone done this yet? or even just the gw washes and an air brush? Ive run into an issue that my marines are washed (devlan mud over white primer) and when it comes to tanks doing this method with a brush is just asking for a disaster. So.. has anyone done this?

I have not done it, but GW says the washes work well with the spray gun. I'd assume an airbrush would work as well, or better.

I gave it a shot, and it was an utter failure. I tried the washes on a Baal predator with my airbrush, and it really didn't work. In fact, it almost seemed to result in the "opposite" result you'd want. It looked like the wash settled on the flat surfaces and not the crevices. I painted some on with a brush, though, and it worked just fine.

Unless I missed some trick with the stuff in an airbrush, I ain't trying that one again...

Seeing how washes are supposed to set into the crevices air brushing them sort of defeats the purpose.

i'd think using a tank brush+ wash is much easier. you're probably using the wrong brush.

EDIT: or just plain doing it wrong.

Thats quite possible. the widest brush i have at current is about 1/2 in or less. ill have to get something more suitable and try it.
