So I got the AOBR set for xmas while getting back into 40k, and I`m in the middle of the terminators. I also picked up a squad of assault termies along the way, and I had a brainstorm today. If you clip off the nubs on the AOBR termies, their arm positions are perfect size for the assault sprue arms. So I`ve ordered a set of Forgeworld shoulder pads to replace the ones I will use on the LC arms, leaving me with the lesser quality stock ones on the converted termies and the high quality ones on the assault termies who will get the 5 TH SS arms! Not quite a two for one, as the shoulders needed replacing, but the assault termies will see much more use this way than they would have with 5 mix LC and TH SS and 5 regular termies who would have seen next to no board time.

Just an idea, somewhat inspired by Grey Deaths quick bits idea on the librarian

PS - this way it works out to 10 playable termies that I will use for the price of 7 (about 15 for the shoulder pads but theyre so sexy its worth it) compared to 5 playable termies and 5 ones I use once in a blue moon

Back on topic... I just did something similar using a box of assault termis to first make some GK termis, then using the arms to make some Chaos termis and still have enough bitz left over for a second squad of GKs.

These cheap black reach termis are gold!

Indeed. I doubt I'm ever going to buy another box of plastic non-Assault Termies again as for $10 more I get so much stuff(and I have a ton of DW Assault Cannons). The only time I might is when I finally build my Death Wing "Command" squad as I want the FW Death Wing Pads for Belial's squad.
