So I'm trying to work out a way of easily doing bases for my orks in a ruined urban basing way and wondered about the various buildings that GW produce. Would it be a good idea to buy one, hack the bits up with my trusty dremel and then use the bits for the bases? I can't see any problems with this idea, but I'm just not quite sure I've seen it done before. I'm probably just being dumb though and everyone already does it...

Not everybody, but your idea is pretty common now. Its a relatively cheap way to make an army of city themed bases, just buy one building and start cutting

My formula for urban bases... small gridded plasticard as the floor, woodland scenics dirt mix, cracked CD shards, and chunks of leftover sprues and spare bitz. Again, I plan on posting some pictures once I finish painting them.
