Anyone notice how the third place model in 40k Single miniature is a slaanesh Daemon prince standing over the remains of a blue autarch? The same blue autarch that was standing over a slain daemonette that won last year?

yeah too bad i cant get the slaneesh pic bigger but they arent from the same artist the eldar autarch is from thomas david and the slaneesh one from david petit guess david petit wanted revenge on the eldar

Yeah the Orks were my fav, so much nice stuff to look at in that set up. The Clans man giant was crazy! Would love to have that model. Not as impressed over all as I have been in years past were it seemed to me that every thing was 1st place quality. Still good stuff though.

Yep, that's it exactly. I don't know what they put in the water over there, but French painters really understand hue and subtlety. They can add a dozen washes to a single panel of colour and come up with something more brilliant than most painters' entire mini.

That White Lion doesn't really exist, right? It's a painting or a computer model. Right? I mean, looking at my stuff, comparing the two, it can't be the same medium. It's just not ... oh my.... I think I am going to have a lie down and maybe a good cry.

the quality of the winners gets better and better by the year. The gold winner from 5+ years ago probably wouldnt even place bronze compared to 2009's standards.

This makes me want to throw all of my minis away and start again... If only I could paint half as well...

Wow! I don't know who does the judging, but I sure don't envy them. I think half the time the entries were reversed.

I was SERIOUSLY awed by the ice work on the Space Wolf Termie. Judas Priest!

Imagine sitting down and doing all the battledamage on the 3rd place in the vehicle category.

These leve Australian GD in their dust.

Work like this is so incredible, yet so depressing. I can't begin to imagine myself painting the same miniature over months and months.

Interesting how the quality goes up. Looking at the French winners over the last ten years, they all look really good, even the decade old one is beyond what I could do.
