Did Fulgrim Just Behead Ferrus?

The Netherlands

After Yakface's suggestion I've decided to make a general thread for the releases by Troll Forged Miniatures.

First off are the new Red Guard Great Coats by our very own Icesword.

With the release of the Codex Imperial Guard coming up (it's not out yet right?) some players might be interested in some alternative to the Cadian or Death Korps models we've been seeing so much. To me they kind of have this Imperial Army (pre Heresy) vibe when comparing to some of the artwork for it. With some converting they would also make great Vostroyans I think!

You can order them here!

Their guns look like crap but other than that they look okay.

The rifles you mean? I agree that the pistol isn't the greatest in the universe but the rifles look pretty decent to me. Besides, they come separate so you could always add other ones to them if you wish.

yeah i'd love some pics of the kit... althoguh shipping for anythign les than 20 might be pointless for me... might end up haivng to fidn some good gas maskheads

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

If I'm not mistaken the rifles come separate, otherwise they are one piece models. However the bodies are quite convertible.

I'll come back on that!

The heads could easily be cut off, you could then add the westwind heads. You might also want to check this out, it's a greatcoat body (different type) which might be more appealing?

Nice figures, do you have a Cadian knocking around for size comparison?

Also I recommend you produce them with separate heads, I think you will increase your customer base this way.

Some separate balaclava, turban and fez heads would look good on these guys too.

Overall, good work.

I have been talking about that with Icesword, he seems to dislike multipart kits. One reason is that most multipart kits all end up having the same poses or have odd poses/proportions, another one might have to do with the casting process. However, separate heads might be something that will be done in the future.

I'm glad you're thinking about it. It seems to me that a seperate head 'sprue' wouldn't be much harder to produce than single piece models, he's already (wisely) doing seperate weapons. There's already a thriving seperate head market and these guys would fit right in.

I've told them that a while ago, but I think Troll Forged wish to do more than just offer extra heads and loose bits like many of these companies primarily seem to run on.

However, I do think that it would be a wise thing to be economically.

And the next lot, separate heads have been taken into account. I've asked TF is he want to chop the greatcoats up and make new molds with a separate head sprue.

Good work. Could I also reccomend a kneeling torso/legs for heavy weapon use.

This is very handy. If I was looking for another Guard company, I would definitely use these as a starting point.

I don't want to get too involved with discussion here but people can check out my WIP thread and see whats happening. These are the first of 10 'grunt/unit fillers', hence the single piece (no need to put together lots of multipart) Armoured versions and gas masks are in the pipeline.

These scale up with GW plastics, and I figure if anyone wanted to buy them they'd be replacing the rifles/weapons with GW stuff anyway. And using pig iron heads until we get some head options organised.

Giger was an influence on the daemon. The Nids were inspired by the Alien Xenomorph which is Giger.

Now that the daemon is taking shape I am starting to like it,an unfortunate side affect of this has also been that I now hear voices,"Quiet all of you,I am trying to post!!!"

Compare it to the old daemons he used to make about a year ago: LINK.

@LunaHound: I'm not sure, I think they are a tiny bit on the long side, but not that extreme. I also think it's the picture perhaps.
