So, Tau may get mad at Orks once in a while, because Tau get killed by Orks. But Orks also kill Kroot, Chuck. And if they didn't kill the Kroot, you know what you'd get? You'd get your Ork and your Tau all covered in Kroot!

This is News and Rumours on Dakka Dakka. This is where grown men use overly harsh language about silly rumours about silly miniatures, causing sensitive people and people who hate thinking and discussion to take them too seriously.

Let me tell you about the kind of man Abba is. He knows that when you put another man's plasma pistol in your mouth, you make a pact. A bond that cannot be broken.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias

uh... WOW?

"Baal Breaker Squad"
(two Baal Preds and a Vindicator)

Two big red Baals and a nice thick gun driving up the middle, able to slap into the flanks and penetrate deep and hard, releasing their massive payload into the faces of your unlucky foes.

If you're BA, you've put your Baals on the table.

This effectively makes Ravenwing armies useless for the better part. Does this mean MC's can still capture? If not, there goes Nidzilla too.

*vehicles being assaulted-is the hit the rear armor note completely out at this point?
*blast templates- direction + sum of 2d6-BS?

I know this is back to the tank between a landraider and a predator thing but stay with me.

in irl terms I can understand why they would give the SM a new tank. they sell the most and it would be a good place to test it out and see if it works on the board. as the other imperial codex's come into line they get their "revised" version or variant to suit the army.

in fluff terms I read that the reason that their not to the technological level of the tau is because their very carefull of what will cause heresy and Xeno's weapons can't be trusted.

If somewhere in the imperium they found old plans of a middle tank that hasn't been used since the horus heresy they would be skeptical of it and would naturally give it to the holiest of their soldiers. after it has seen battle it would be trusted slowly to other armies.

just a thought.

The latest round of 5th edition on the BoLS is interesting...

ONLY troops count as scoring BUT... ANY model can contest an objective.

Huh?

And, looks like we're back to the Marine models having the Ultramarine symbol molded onto them.

Why?

Only Troops get you points out of objectives, but enemy models on the objective can contest it and prevent you getting the points. At least thats how I understand it. So 1 Guardian within 3" and a unit of Terminators within 3" will mean a contested objective, ie no points, as opposed to Eldar scoring it and the Termies being immaterial.

Which will mean, more often than not, that an objective based game will end in a tie?

Will victory points be the tie-breaker?

A guy on Warseer has it that Kill points will be the tie breaker. This is Kill points as in one point per unit destroyed (no matter if it's HQ troops, or whatever).

Also objectives are apparently 'Cleanse', markers, and annihilation. So perhaps no PDF take and hold?

However, he does say he will have to read the section again as he was too busy staring at the plastic Drop Pod picture

I can easily see KPs being the tiebreaker, although, I like the proposed 1 KP Troops, 3 KP HQ, 2 KP everything else.

Rending works as in the pdf apparently, and in assault you hit the rear armour of vehicles except walkers.

Run/fleet is an extra d6", with the possibility of assault if you have FoF.

Discalimer ; haven't seen the book myself (yet) but this is from people who say they have.

piccie of the forthcoing "lasgun" too.

I guess you could, but this is, allegedly, a great promotional tool to help the launch...

Of course, it would have been a better promotional tool if it looked a lot more like something in the 40K universe, like, maybe a lasgun?

Or better yet, a lascannon?

I think it means that if you only have one model left in a unit, such as one tactical marine from a squad left standing, it still counts as able to contest an objective.

Rather than having to be equal to or above half-strength, you have one tactical marine left there, you still contest (or hold) an objective.

That's how I read it anyway.

Take it easy.
