The Talos Kit is simply amazing! a joy to build and soo many options. Also a piece of cake to magnetise, I really do wonder why GW doesn't sell magnets! If someone is inclined to magnetise surely the extra revenue from magnet sales will help cover the loss of sales.. (at the end of the day the dude isn't buying two kits.)

I had some accidental success like this when painting the scourge wings, the green ink creeping onto the flesh. so I think I'll play around a little with it. But keeping the colours separate kinda works for these girls and their comic book roots.
++ New News. I bought the girls their battle foam today. After the real success I had in getting an awesome custom tray for my grots (9 buggies 9 kans and 2 deffdreads! on one tray!) there was no question on how I'd be getting the girls to battle!
I have a Battlepack 432 so I'm limited to 7.5 inches of foam depth. 25 slots for hellions, and 13 girls in the first two trays. 2 inches each. 4" of foam.
And a 3.5" deep custom tray that holds 3venoms. 3talos. several extra girls in the little squares up to 10 scourge in the larger squares plus a few extra squares for bits and pieces.
I can't wait to get the foam and get the girls out there into the world.
++Next... I decided that the little arms you get with the talos are wasted hidden under belly. So I never attached them. Playing around with them I thought that instead of making female mandrakes out of the slaanesh daemonettes I could make Wracks.
W(oman)racks!! What do you think? the arms are just held in place behind the body to get a look at the feel of the wracks?
I have 16 of the little arms so could easily make a 10 girl squad of wracks. I think the masks make sense now and I'm liking the green stuff mask on the daemonette head.?
They could be very usefull when list building as a squad of 10 is only 100pts and are troops because of the haemonculus. They could stay at home and hold objectives with their feel no pain token. Although their not fluffy with the hellions, they will be female, What do you think??

2 questions:
1) Do you think a subtle yellow highlight on the green would add a bit more dimension?
2) I noticed the weapons are all very monochromatic. Is that deliberate? Did you experiment with a different color for the handles/gun casings/etc.?

Yellow on the girls hair? I think it pops enough and the extra work will detract from the basic comic book nature of the army. Likewise,
All the weapons have all been painted a single shade of blue to go with the limited comic book colour scheme and to make painting quicker... I'm a terribly slow painter in general!

I've found wracks to be pretty useful. They don't have the staying power of wyches due to lack of an invulnerable, but if you can get them to start with the haemonculus to give them furious charge right off and maybe an acothyst with a venom blade, they get really scary in combat. The other option I like is to run them in groups of five with a liquifier in a venom. For ~100 points, there's not much that can match them for anti-infantry firepower

yeah, I'm about 70% done with painting the first 2 Talos/Chronos. Number 3 is still on the sprue...
++ The green on the talos was driving me mad... so I started on the wrack conversions to take a break from painting. I sliced off the daemonette shoulders and hollowed out a socket and attached the vestigial arms directly unaltered. I only have enough arms to make 8 wracks, so I have ordered another set of 6 arms from bits barn (America). I'll make the second set of five wracks once they turn up.
2 weeks till tournament and still a lot to do to get to 1750pts. Hopefully the arms and battle foam will turn up in time!?

Great colors on that chick, dig the conversion work on all the lady wracks in general. (Also, you gave them their second boob back, right? Well done, sir, well done.)
The only advice I'd have for you is to cut off the plastic needles on the syringes, and replace them with metal pins. I did that with my Wraiths and felt much more confident about the model's survivability afterwards.

That model in the center's arms kill me, they're so awesome looking. They all look good but those are my favorites. Great models.

Wow, looks like I haven't checked back on this thread in far too long! The Talos' look awesome, I wasnt too sure about the Wracks at first , but seeing them painted up, they look great
I kept the Extra weapons on the talos and dropped three wracks to put night shields on the venoms.
(This decision was in no way made because it needs less models! )
Still to do:
Sky bitch and 2 scourge need highlights and the Talos and wracks need their painting completed...
I need one more hellion... (or change the arm of one helliarch so it isn't holding a whip.)
I I made some progress today and got the third talos built and magnetised sprayed and inked.

I also built, sprayed and inked wracks 6 and 7.
I messed about with cutting different eye styles into the green stuff masks... looks a bit gladiatorish...
Battlefoam may not make it in time :( So I need a real sit down and think about how to transport these to bristol.
I do have a full set of pick and pluck, but hat seems like a waste since the hellion trays are ordered.
Still fingers crossed and the battle foam may still arrive.
That's it for today, Hopefuly I'll find the time to get them all done in time for the tournament.
I have a couple of the old-style eggshell foam GW cases if you wanna use those? They probably won't fit the bigger models, but one should carry all your troops/hellions etc...
I don't know if you've had to submit your list yet or anything, but if you can still make changed, one unit of Hellions wont need the PGL. The Baron(ess) comes with one so having two is a bit needless.
It would mean a little more painting, but you could squeeze another few Wracks or liquifiers on a wrack and the Haemy maybe?
That aside, the models are looking ace, good luck in the tourney

ArbitorIan and I attended BattleCults tournament in bristol at the weekend it was a blast.
The venue is great a nice big hall with plenty of space around each table.
The tables were nice had plenty of terrain, with a good mix of terrain types and all terrain was clearly defined.

I brought the girls but saddly I lost every game I played

I played:
1st game - Spacewolfs --- I lost mostly because I messed up the rules, but probably wouldn't have won anyway.
2nd game - Eldar - I was outplayed and beaten fair and square!
3rd game - GreyKnights - draigo wing varient --- I gave it a go!
4th game - BloodAngels - all JumpPacks -- monster deathcompany squad tore me a new one.
5th game - SpaceWolfs - was winning in turn five - lost in turn six.
6h game - DarkAngels - DeathWing - reduced enemy to Belial and two terminators but Lost to kill points.
All great games with friendly opponents.

I feel the girls could have done better and I haven't wrote them off just yet.
I got the talos and wracks completed to tabletop standard just in time for the tournament.
