Apologies for the delay. Lets blame Civilization V such an addicting game. Anyway... I have been working on some possessed because they looked fun and could be pretty good in CC.
I also played against a friends IG at the weekend and got decimated due to my lack of anti-armour so it looks like tanks will be on the horizon. Here's the first Possessed I've finished

Possessed 1:

I painted the exposed flesh...well flesh coloured because I thought it showed that it used to be a man before the Daemon was allowed in. I personally dis-like multicoloured Possessed but that's my taste
And here's a WIP of the second guy

Hey Nash! I think the possessed look great. Love the bronze tones.

Wish I could help with the list but I've only ever played 1000 points.

I'm Back! After a 5 month quiet period I have decided to come back to the hobby. I fell out of love and interest for it. I would look at my Possessed and just feel "ugh". The thought of picking up a brush seemed to impossible to me. And over the past 5 months my two friends stopped collecting leaving me with no reason to keep going. I finished the Possessed squad late December. But the cogs in my head never stopped turning. I still want a 40k Imperial Fist Army, 30k Imperial Fist army, Imperial Guard and now Orks. After a chat with the manager of my local GW and a another customer Ive decided I can just paint and convert to collect for my own amusement and to take part in store tournaments and maybe make some rivals and allies.

SO this is what I'm going to do:
- Work on my 40k IF to practice
-Get a glass display cabinet when me and my GF move in together late this year
- Take part in more events at my FLG
- And get the nerve to get an airbrush

There will be some pictures of the Possessed that were finished and some WIP of the IF I'm doing. Here's hoping to a better 2015 for the hobby

Look out for the next instalment!

Great to see you back mate.

Regarding weathering, I've come across a sure fire winner for chipping. Using some old packing foam that the old blisterpacks had in them you can tear of a chunk, dip a corner into some silver paint, get most of it off on a tissue/towel, then lightly dab it onto the armour, below is what I managed to do.

Spoiler:

I used to play in a lot of MTG events in Southsea so I know that area quite well.

In regards to battle damage I would do it like Knightley says but use black and then paint on some silver inside of it to give it a 3d effect, well thats how I do mine.

The yellow you have is very nice, that would look excellent rolled out at army scale.

Another quick update: unable to any of my stuff under coated with the spray as it's to cold and I'm at a loss of what to do, using paint just makes the undercoat look awful. Any ideas?

I'm afraid you're going to have to wait until it gets warmer or buy an air brush.

I have the same issue, I have a large collection of minis growing in my to be under coated box.

Your Chaos Marines and the Imperial Fist look great Nash! The key to weathering is to place it on the edges. These are the first things to chip.

Looks great. As far as weather you'll have to spray indoors. You could try some drying retarder that slows down the paint drying. May not work depending on how cold it is.

Looking back through my blog it would seem I have multiple large gaps between work. It's something I can't avoid. I still like to collect build and paint but unfortunately my two friends who also did have stopped. Motivation is hard to find when you know that you won't get to use the stuff you've made. So I will keep going but at plodding pace. Yeah OK updates maybe be distant apart but as long as I keep doing things for you guys it'll be alright in the end. There will be some pictures this evening of my latest Tactical Marines for Imperial Fists

I'm in the same boat with my guard. I update, but I don't update regularly any more.

I must apologise that I haven't put up the picture. 4 marines are finished and I'm just under halfway done with the fifth. It's taking a while because I pick at it when I'm in the mood. I still want a 40k and a 30k IF army. Though I can't do any work on them for a while as I have broken my dominant hand last week. But when it's fixed the work will continue as there is so much I'm thinking of doing for all you guys to see.

It's been over a year since I've posted. I feel bad for that. But in this time I've got a new job, moved into my own flat with my GF, been on holidays and had a huge water leak ruin my flats floor. Painting hasn't been great, I've discontinued my Brazen Legion for 40k as I'm tired of them, same for the AOS counterparts. The IF marines have 6 in their number, and I've settled on a Death/Chaos Daemon army for AOS. Got a load of second hand stuff from a friend while I'm painting up his Necrons. Once these are done I shall continue the blog again properly following my IF and Death armies. Also started running a D&D campaign an that takes more work than I realised...
