40K and WHFB Fluff For Nutters are now ‘just’ 40K and WHFB Background

So, a bit of a sea change for the Dakka Background Forums…

“Why?” some may ask?

Well, the background forums have become home to a good number of ‘silly’ threads as of late.

Now I know that in a ‘game of toy soldiers’, many would think that trying to have a ‘serious discussion’ about the background of a fictional universe is in itself rather silly, but we’d like Dakka Dakka to be a place where, for lack of a better term, serious discussions on the background of 40K and WFB can take place.

Ultimately, we’d love for Dakka to be ‘the’ place to come for background questions and discussions. Sure there are lots of other places to go for information, but there's something to be said for being able to ask questions, generate discussion, speculate, etc.

So what does this all mean? Well, it may be a bit of a reach to say that we're going to have a striking change, or a major transformation, but I do feel that this will be for the better!

Basically, threads that are obviously ‘silly’ in nature will be moved to the appropriate General Discussion Forum. Mods will basically be making the call on what constitutes an overtly ‘silly’ thread, and users are also encouraged to use the 'notify moderator' button to help with this as well.

We appreciate your help with this ‘new’ direction, and look forward to improving the overall experience for everyone who visits Dakka Dakka.
