Ruined building, sewer grate with water effects, broken pipes, pavers made of fun foam, and cork board used for debris.

Should be fun!

Thank you sir. It's good to be back adding content not just browsing.

This was a ton of fun to do. I literally cut 100 pavers out of fun foam. I got lots of inspiration from a chap on YouTube called Buypainted and Eonsofbattle.

Cork and fun foam are so easy to work with you can just let you imagination run wild.

A roll of cork and 10 sheets of fun foam cost me $15.

I am very seriously thinking about going back over some of my old terrain and adding a ton more rubble. Stay tunned for that.I do have to make two more of these bases so lets hear some feedback.

I appreciate and value any ideas for the next two.

As of right now I am just watching paint dry. Hopefully I can get started tonight.

Thanks as always

I've seen the stuff before, but never dreamed it to be useful for terrain before.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

I'd go with muddy or maybe when there is oil and it gets all blue and purple. Clean doesn't make sense, and green will draw attention away from the star that is the model.

And happy birthday. Enjoy some good food, and have fun with the fair this weekend.

Clear, since it's base color is Brown, muddy works as well, the green ooze is a running theme in my terrain.
Blue or purple is an interesting idea.

Thanks for the birthday wishes buddy

I'd go with oily or gas petro... that rainbow swirl look. That would be really cool to do.

Thanks everyone one for the feedback.

Let's talk about oil paints. Anyone have any experience using them for weathering?

I'm getting some tomorrow and wanted some tips and suggestions on brands and also thinners.

Thanks in advance

I've been dabaling in oils as well. Thinners really make the difference. I started with a turpentine. but it didn't work too well. it would alway separate the pigments. and never looked clean and smooth. So i gave up on it. I just receintly bought mineral spirits. This stuff work great! I just painted an Ultramarine with it. Because it takes 24 hours to dry it is very easy to control it. add some spirits to the brush wipe off the excess on paper towel and you can remove and unwanted wash.

Hello all I need some help. I think it is safe to say that we learn a lot from each other and I am sure we are always ready to learn more.

Well my buddies Rob and Alex have thought me a ton. They recently opened their own terrain company that I think you should all see.

They have a podcast interview with Adepticon that I have linked here
http://www.adepticon.org/?p=9110
If you attended Adepticon you may have even seen their work first hand.

When you guys get a chance please check out their Facebook page
https://m.facebook.com/ironheartartisans

They fill a certain void in product lines and offer some amazing MDF terrain and other goodies.

If you dig them , like em!

Thanks again everyone

Looking very cool. I always like it when big models like these get awesome looking bases. Though this is just me I don't like the dreamforge titan, but I am excited to see how the base turns out.

edit: Meaning the actually model itself not the paint job
