Hey Joel, any word on some offcial colour schemes for the two factions?

I'm from the future. The future of space

Different camo schemes or drabs that they adopt based on the environment they are fighting in?

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

@Seirra - You are very welcome! glad you like the miniatures, thanks for your purchase!

@Triszin - Not that I remember.. Icesword, who sculpts and owns the MOTN range we sell, used to post there a lot, so it may be him you are thinking of.
Glad you like the suits!

@Snrub and Frozen Wastes -

I will try to get some official colour schemes put together, but Ive not actually found time to paint any yet so Ive not thought about it. The schemes choosen by Dwartist, who painted the models shown in the product pages, are pretty excellent so I will probably start with those for my own "studio" army.

Earth is a big place and the factions are fighting all over it, dozens of different corporations and groups will use the same basic equipment for their armies, so you can go for pretty much any colour scheme you like and its totally legit.

Its probably more true to the background to go with realistic military colours - greys, camo greens, dark blues, whites etc, but theres no reason a unit in more ceremonial/corporate colours wouldnt be fighting either..

For the launch of the full game I'm hoping to have a whole bunch of painted models and digital renders showing different schemes and options.

Cheers

Hi Joel, half way through painting the vanguard now :-) just a suggestion but why not run a painting competition to gather a whole lot of colour scheme ideas. with over 200 kickstarter backers I think you should get an interesting mix of ideas. and would be interesting to see what people have done with their minis. all the best, Damon

Hi Joel,

I know there not 'mixing' but could you post a Exo Lord next to a Unity Marine ?

I would like to get a feel of the models for quite a few games I play that I could Mix and Match them up as a Force.

Agreed!

Also what happened to the custom make your own exo-lord? Did you get rid of them because it is hard to get all the bits together or something? Just wondering.

Got my Vanguard package today. I'm glad to report that this package was delivered properly and not thrown at the front door like last time.

The models are, to say the least, fan-smegging-tastic. Quality is top notch. Not a single air bubble to be seen. No big mould lines or flash. Just clean crisp resin.

Vargo Federici is possibly my favourite model from the AFTERLIFE range so far. Something about him just really kicks it off. I don't know if it's the nicely pressed trousers he wears or the eerie looking thing attached to his spine, but something about the model has really stuck a cord with me.

@ellyll81 - Thanks for the suggestion, I will certainly consider some kind of painting competition!

@asherian command - The custom Exo lord was gone a long time ago! Basically yes, there were a number of factors which lead to the decision but mainly - it wasnt profitable enough to do with a substantial discount, it was a pain to sort out all the bits for each squad without making mistakes, and it was quite complicated for the customer. I made the Black Ops range as a sort of replacement - much simpler figures which are more user friendly, and they sell much better than the "build your own" kits ever did.

@snrub - thanks very much for leaving the feedback! Yes I really like Vargo too (I designed him but didnt do the sculpting) - I want to get plenty of hard as nails civilians into the game, why should the military have all the fun.

@ snythetik/pandamango - Thanks for for posting up that image, its not an Exolord but GW marines/chaos marines are similar enough in scale for it to be a useful comparison.
The afterlife human infantry scale very similarly to forge world Imperial Guard such as elysians.

Aaaaand before I go.. a NEW RELEASE!

We've got some great new photos of our Unity Council Drone, and its available now in our store!

Cheers

Would you ever do a Exo Lord themed set. Like sell a group of themed exo-lords.

But anyway!

Nice job on the predator Might pick up a group of them. When I get the cash hahaha.

Just got my drone this morning (super fast considering it was dispatched yesterday) and it's superb! It is going to fit perfectly with a paramilitary mini I'm waiting for and it is going straight to the top of my painting pile! I also ordered one of the weapons and I can't believe how awesome the reflex sight is considering how tiny it is.

Anvil, any chance you might make an Eotech-style sight in the future? A man-portable quad-rotor drone would also be extremely welcome

Thanks Guys!

@Asherian. To be totally honest its unlikely I will have time to work on/expand the Exo-Lords in the forseeable future. Work on the AFTERLIFE game is taking up all my time and is a far larger project than I ever imagined if I want to do it justice!

@Siygess - Thanks very much! Do leave a review of the Drone on our website if you get a minute, as that way many more people will see it Glad you like the model, please post photos of the finished painted model if you can, I would love to see it.

Yes an Eotech sight is planned, quite a few people are after those, but it will be when we get our 3D printer in a few months time most likely.

Drone somthing like this -

??

I can do that!

At the moment, all I do each day is write the rules, test the rules, re-write the rules..

Its taking a lot longer than I anticipated, but we are making progress and each re-write improves the game and makes it more streamlined.

We are at the stage where all the basic mechanics are in place and the game is fast, tactical and importantly fun to play, but it needs a bit more refining and also I need to write up and test the starter scenarios.

I am hoping to release the trial rules toward the end of next week, but if it takes longer, Im not going to rush it out. Even though its a trial I still want to put out a decent quality product.

I am as impatient as all the Vanguard backers to get the rules out there!

Cheers

Exactly like that, Joel! If it comes with a weapon option and a camera option (as seen on the Predator) then a lot of people are going to find a use for it, I think

Ah, good to hear. That is sooner then I was expecting. I was thinking maybe another month or two. But yeah, don't rush the rules.

New post from their facebook

Thanks to Michael Carey for his excellent name suggestion "Preacher" which I'm going with. Preacher is a bio-engineered monstrosity, designed by a Senior Afterlife Technician in the Krono-Tech black labs to be a personal bodyguard/bullet shield.

Preacher may look slow and stupid, but his outer appearance hides a lot of "work" in neural enhancement, giving him lighting fast reflexes as well as enormous physical size and power.
Everytime Preacher is wounded or killed in combat, he is shipped back to the lab and patched up, to continue serving his master.. with a new scar or two to add to his collection.

Miniature concept by Joel Pitt, Sculpting and Render by Tom Lishman.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but the Republic Goliath Assault Mech is available now. $25 USD. Not bad. If my monetary situation were better, I'd probably grab one myself.

Um. I'm not sure to be honest. At a guess I'll say bigger. But I can take a picture of it up against a fire warrior and you can judge for yourself if you'd like.

Hey Everyone,

@Siygess - Cool, Ill make sure a drone like that is released as part of the next KS pack.

@ellell81 - Awesome, thanks for posting the painted photos up, they look great! I really hope I get a chance to paint some of my figures soon as well as just designing them!

@Snrub - Making progress on the rules! Final write up this weekend and some mission tweaking next week to go still.

@Jehan - thanks for posting that up! Snrub - He is a fair bit bigger than normal, I would guess he will end up around 35-40mm tall, comparable to a Mech but its all muscle bulk!

@Barzam - Yes! the goliath is now available, here is a useful scale comparison photo -

and the product page -

GOLIATH MECH

@Lookey Likey - The drone is approx 5cm long with a 5.5cm wingspan, hope that helps! It is supplied with a 50mm plastic base.

Cheers

Joel

Really looking forward to getting the beta rules.

As far as Preacher goes, will he be a close combat orientated unit or is he just there to supply grenade based fire support for his master?

Would have put this up last night, but I was tired from a night out and couldn't find the camera, but here it is. Hope it helps.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

You m ight get away with using the word mech rather than Mecha, its is trademark but IIRC not properly enforced and getting genericised.

However Goliath Assault Mech, really.

Catalyst Gaming Labs might get a bit upset at that.
