I don't know if this is mentioned already but afterlife components are now for sale

New Afterlife Bits Available - Ajax and Tracer Helmets, great for more advanced miniatures.
Plus Grenadier and Marine LEGS are now available separately, suitable for use with most 28mm heroic scale infantry figures
All the Afterlife bits are now in a new "conversion bits" section here- http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/AFTERLIFE/Conversion-Parts

Thanks all for the positive feedback, and Jehan for posting up the news quicker than I can!

I mentioned some of the parts yesterday, but we have also now made available the Ajax and Tracer mech heads.

The Ajax, pictured, is more suitable for larger figures like Exo-Lords, while the tracer helm is a full face varient of the UC Marine helm, so suitable for normal human infantry.

We have also released the Marine and Grenadier legs in sets of 5, with two varient sets available. Ideal for converting most 28mm heroic scale human infantry.

Example pic attached

We are releasing a couple of brand new Exo-Lord heavy weapon options tommorow!

Cheers,

Joel

Good to see you've not forgotten the Exo-Lords !!!

In my opinion the Afterlife Grenadiers are by far the best infantry going , yours or anyone else's for that matter. I don't like the Unity Council stuff so much. But the look of the Grenadiers is absolutely spot on.

PLEASE release Exo-Lord scale Grenadier heads and Legs !!!!!
PLEASE !!!!

You know Joel, I'm mildly disappointed in your range.

There is a distinct lack of grim darkness about your models. Plus after a thorough search I can spy not a single skull.

I think he was 'joking'.

If we could all just move on from that, well, that would be great.

I was joking. I was hoping the poky tongue emote conveyed that. Maybe I should have used the winky emote instead.

But yes, jokes don't work over the internet.

I'll edit the post to prevent further confusion.

For the record though, I love my AFTERLIFE minis and I highly recommend them.

Any plans for a grenadier torso with 'open' arms that could take your , or others, special weapon types?

Planning to give Afterlife a try and I'm very happy I upgraded to Vanguard, but realistically my 40 or so Grenadiers are going to get the most use in...other games.

@Snrub... don't worry I found it funny.. I'm in the middle of making a varient Grenadier Squad for you, with skull shoulder pads and rifles that fire exploding skulls..

(also a joke)

@Plastictrees - Sure I understand a lot of people will be using our models as proxies in other games, particularly at the moment while our game is still under development!

We are going to work something out. Most likely a set with a grenadier torso, head, and open rifle arms, which can be used for any type of weapons. Same for the Marines and other infantry kits.

We are also releasing Human size versions of the flamer thrower, Ion rifle and Fusion cannon next week, which will be compatible.

Cheers

PC will be the dead of humanity, maybe a PC squad should be in order or maybe you should make an investigative due from the Ministry of Political Correctness Agent Mox Fulder and Agent Skully

Well, it seems you've been working on torso bits since they're in those new photos you've posted.

I really like the way those Ajax heads look with the Steamlord parts. Almost makes it look like an older, obsolete model of Ajax.

Oh, and are you going to have the Tracer suits up sometime soon?

@Plastictrees - I cant, unfortunately, give an indication of when they will appear, could be a few weeks or a few months depending on when I can find a block of time.

@Jehan I have no idea what you mean by PC..

@Barzam - they are the separate master torsos I used to build the original figures, but we do also have them sprued up ready to go once I can make separate arms which work well.

Im not sure when the tracers will appear, I may make the full squads available as part of the KS for Volume One, just need to get round to building more up.

At the moment there are more Unity Council than Republic Units in the Kickstarter already, so Im not rushing with the Tracers.

Cheers

Really tempted to buy some of this stuff, with the rules mate whats the game aimiing for a skirmish size battle? so like 20, 30 odd figures

Made in gb
Longtime Dakkanaut

@Jehan - Ah I see, makes sense now.

@Mitch_rifle -

If you back the KS for the launch of the full game, you will get 30-50 figures, which is roughly where the game is aiming, scale wise.
The rules set will likely include a "skirmish mode" at some with more autonomy and realisism for individual figures, with around a dozen models per side max.

The core mechanics should be good for anything up to 100 models per side, so long as you dont have too many separate Units (Its Unit by Unit activation rather than IGOUGO).

Im glad you like the models, and hope you will like all the new stuff we have planned!

KS ? When's the time frame for making my wallet scream ?

Alternating unit by unit or some sort of random activation ?

Kickstarter - we are preparing for it at the moment, I would guess about a month from now is realistic. When we have picked a launch date we will give two weeks notice of the launch. The project will run for 3-4 weeks.

Rules - Its alternating activations where you choose which Unit activates (move, shoot, any special actions) Your opponent will in some cases get a chance to make a "reaction" move which allows them to interrupt your Units activation if they can win a "reaction test".
There are also "command points" which can be spent to activate two units simultaneously for special moves like covering fire, co-ordinated room breaching and so on.

NEW RELEASES-

We are very focused on AFTERLIFE at the moment, but we've not forgotten about our Exo Lords, here are two new "toys" for them.

Heavy Fusion Cannon and Minigun.

The Heavy Fusion Cannon is cast as one piece with the arms, power cables and power plant backpack, so its a very high detail and easy to use component - just slot any exo-lord torso in through the top gap (or a similar plastic torso).

Joel, I thought I'd post some finished Afterlife figures .

I love these correctly scaled human infantry , great poses, realistic gear , everything .

I did change the heads to fit the aesthetics of my army, so sorry for that ! But they are still seriously cool. Excited about finishing the Grenadiers !

Hi Joel, just wanted to add my £0.02 to the masses - very keen on the Afterlife range so far and eagerly awaiting some more hints (any!) as to the mechanics of the Afterlife ruleset itself. Have been promoting the range around my local FLGS' facebook page, which is now stocking a fair range of the Afterlife and Exo-Lords/Special Ops stuff in house. Very excited for the next KS and hope to be backing it.

In particular am really hoping for this to be a much more balanced yet fun system than another certain sci-fi wargame - the models are easily on par, sometimes much better than their competitors and it'd be great to see them get their own equally attractive ruleset.

Thought I'd post some WIPs of my Republic Grenadiers so far. Not finished by any means, highlights need a lot of work but the models are a joy to work with. Looking forward to the next big release, will be getting my hands on a mech soon enough hopefully.
