You know Jake, it couldn't hurt to share those Tech Guard. You can't keep something like that all to yourself

They do look bloody awesome after all.

That reminds me, not much time left in 2014 for that Matilda to come out. Just in time for Christmass?

Yes you are right. It is looking much more like a 2015 project at the moment. Partly because it requires a lot of upfront expenses. Its by far the biggest project Vic minis has tackled and will take time to do well.

I would rather have hat sets like WW1/2 British helmets, comissar caps, ANZAC hats, etc.

Oh and female Mordians.

Is there an ETA on the empty rifle arms, and will there be several styles (full sleeves, rolled up sleeves, bare arms)?

If you could consider adding a small pocket to the upper sleeves, that would be fantastic!

I'll happily wait for a good quality release of female Mordians, and the Matilda tank.

Then I'll wait more for the matching APC and artillery variants.

For anyone who's going to be at PAX Australia in Melbourne next week, I'll be on the Pixels to Putty panel that's 1030am on Saturday.

Victoria was going to be there, but unfortunately life has intervened too much for her to make it - it's a damned shame, I was going to get her to drink beer and she was going to try to find a wine that didn't make me feel ill!

Still, if you're around, feel free to come in and give a watch.

Sorry for the short notice, but despite this coming up a month ago, I only got official confirmation yesterday, and my home internet was playing up.

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

On the suggestions front, I'd love to have some desert raiders, so heads in scarves and legs with puttees please! (figure the legs would go with any of your Victorian miniatures too)

Well, I'm packed up for PAX Australia, and just need to mosey into town in a few hours.

BrookM, for the life of me I tried to do the Webley, it just wasn't going to work well at this scale for printing OR casting, so I went a bit more 357 on it.

Vic likes the revolver, but doesn't know if you folks would find it chunky enough to be a not-bolt pistol, so we agreed to kick it open to you folks to comment on.

I'm super impressed that you're interacting with your fans like this, the revolver isn't half bad either!

It's a shame you can't 'webley' it anymore, any chance of getting more detail on the cylinder? On a 28mm fig I reckon it would look absolutely excellent anyway, top stuff as usual.

I'd be in for a few if you got around to producing 'em!

I also second Jadeim's suggestion of desert troopers, I yearn to build a sci fi Afrika korps! Or get a 40k based Tallarn raiders company going in the rather nifty Victoria Minis mould!

Honestly I think when you're dealing with revolvers the bigger the better.

If it's not-bolt pistol sized then good! Most likely what they'll be used as anyway. May as well make it convincing.
Make it a right proper hand cannon. A big two-handed affair. Something you could beat a horse to death with.

It doesn't have to be a 100% copy of the Webley, the design as is looks great though, it's got a nice big barrel, a nice groove running along the cylinder to make it stand out from the more generic designs, all I can say is..

I don't think this 'double-action' (possibly modelled after Smith&Wesson M-10) revolver is strong enough to chamber 20mm standard bolter round. the cylinder itself is too short to house the said bolter round. It serves the functions of las pistol better.

Will there be 'cowboy single action bolt pistol'?

^ This suits the revolver bolt pistol better than S&W M10.

For a bolt revolver I imagen something more like a mateba revolver. I'm on my phone atm so can't post a pic of one atm sadly.

Edit:

Figured out how to copy and paste

If you've looking for a big/chunky (but historical) pistol how about the Lancaster Pistol with 2 or 4 barrel design

To me at least any sort of bolt weapon needs to be chunky enough to convey the thing is a mini rocket launcher as all bolt weapons are. Anything more normal sized is a Las pistol/autopistol/stub gun

In my head in modern 40k throws 3 guns can be used interchangeably.

I'm not sure any pistol based on an existing revolver will really visually read "Bolt pistol" on a 28mm. Such a weapon will likely either look like a chunky revolver or a stubby grenade launcher.

Possibly it would be better to make something like a Bolt-Pistol with revolving chamber than a Revolver scaled up to be a Bolt Pistol.

No one referenced Hellboy's revolver yet?

It has a lovely chunky feel that would convey bolt pistol to me.

Hellboy's pistol is a good example. Recall that bolt guns/pistols are .75 caliber, which is basically a 10 gauge shotgun shell, but also a caliber used in flintlocks such as this beast. The fact it shoots tiny missiles actually limits the amount of material needed to keep it from exploding, as the chamber pressure only needs to get it moving rapidly in the right direction and the little jets from the round itself can be used to get it to killing speed (maybe). So a lower pressure charge such as in a flintlock or shotgun can be used to get it going and make it killy enough at shorter range, then the bolt itself does the rest past that. Especially for a pistol with shorter range that should allow for a sleeker frame than scaling up a .32 magnum say; you just need the thicker barrel and scaled cylinder.

Of course designing with that in mind might result in a much smaller gun than the eye will be comfortable with, especially compared to the normal size of laz and bolt pistols from GW.

Edit: the total diameter of the barrel will be larger perhaps, but the walls of the barrel can be thinner than just straight scaling is what I meant to say.

I'm still not a fan of the taurox design, but those wheels make it look a hell of a lot better.
