I have been starting to play Tau a bit recently with some success. I have been playing with the positional relay army, and wanted to start bringing some funky units to play with. I have gotten a test game or two in with the Vespid with mixed results. So, I have decided to paint them up so I have to play them! My Tau color scheme's a little different than most but here is my test Vespid;

Photos are a lil cloudy....hard to tell the quality of the paint but the colors I like heh.

I'm still not great with a camera those were the best shots I was able to get.

My warriors, suits, and vehicle's are like the image below, all of the auxillary's are using the color's in the vespid scheme, with purple as the skin tone.

Nice clean paint jobs... but, wow, they are definately PINK!

The vespid look really good, but I can't help thinking they could do with some areas of contrasting colour. Squad markings or tattoos or something on the head/shoulders?

Excellent shading! Really good. Could perhaps do with a bit of Bleached Bone.

I got tired of painting my Adepticon army for next year and came back to the Tau for a bit. I've always wanted to paint shadowsun, thought it was a cool looking suit. The only thing I didn't like was that antenna thing on her right shoulder pad. I still have to work on the drones but here is shadowsun;

Nah, vespids aren't bad. The pictures are a bit blurry and it's up to you how you paint your models. They are well painted, nice job!

Nice, good clean paintjob. I don't like the colour scheme. It's too slaaneshy/feminine.

The only reason they are pink is that I let my wife pick the color scheme for the army and was up for a challenge.

I already have armies that use a lot of the regular color's blue, red, black, white as there primary color scheme and wanted to try somthing different.

Whenever I play them I get alot of attention from the other's gamer's at the store. Once the armies done I'm interested to see how it will do paint-wise at tourney's.

I think you might be a bit to close to the mini with the camera. Every camera has its own focal point, and you seem to be too clase. Try pulling the camera back until the pictures clear up.

OK onto the minis. Very nicely painted. I like seeing pink in armies, especially when it looks good. Your deffinetly good at the painting part

The 'fun' army is just about done. I just need to finished up a firewarrior squad, 2 vespid, and my commander, some detail work on a hammerhead, and a couple of drones. After that comes the competitive list
