Hey everybody just starting a thread so i can start posting my WIP space marine costume. I will also be making an Eldar farseer costume for my wife. We are planning on going to a convention in Feb 2010. I will start to buy the materials tomorrow. PAYDAY YAY!!

Any pics on gallery?? I'm intrested in the farseer conversion. I tried to model hair on to one once, but unfortunately i'm terrible with green stuff.

lol good laugh but ill be putting up pics tomorrow. I just would have hated to wait then get some good advice and have to redo something. At least now i could eliminate some of that but not all. But now that i have your attention keep this thread in subscribed lol

First round of materials bought. The white foam i just picked up at work. YAY!! for recycling. Then i have 1/2" foam insulation board, a bucket of filler, a 50' rolle of 1" gap chicken wire, a 1" foam tube, some putty knoves, and a bucket of rubber cement. Get to start building here soon.

Looking at your materials choice, I am slightly sceptical.

Im assuming the semi sphere thing = shoulder pad?

Where does your shoulder go if it isnt hollow?

I plan to cut out the arm holes when it is complete with my homemade foam cutter (made it out of a soldering gun.) I figured it would be easier to build the structure then cut instead of trying to build it hollow.

As for the costume, I will follow along since I was planning on doing something similar, though I was going to be more specifically an Inquisitor for simplicity and mobility. Anyways, looks good so far.

I'm excited to see how everything turns out, maybe use something for inspiration. There are a lot of hurdles in a SM costume, I spent a while researching fiber glassing technique (seems like the best option).
