can someone give me the base size the hellpit abomination should be on in inches i dont like the metric system because i live in the US and i dont own a metric ruler.

The debate is still out whether it's a 1.96850" x 1.96850" or a 1.96850" x 3.93700" base ... Assuming you aren't cutting your own bases, that's a 50x50 (large monster) or 50x100 (chariot) base in mm

You'd be better off using a 50x50 and if they ever do come out with a model on a bigger base just fix it then.

I'm sticking with a Chariot-Base

Roughly the same as a Hydra.

I'm going to have to upgrade to a larger base after all... my abomination is too big (lengthwise) for a 50x50. <sigh>

I wouldn't hold your breath too long. I'm in the 50x50 camp, but I do see slightly more on chariot bases at this point.

I would use Hydra or Giant base.
Not sure if it's the same as in Chariot

One Hellpit from GW is 50mm x 50mm, the other is on a chariot base. So, even they haven't decided amongst themselves.
