Yeah, the dev chat just now has me interested in the game more than ever now.

Just the idea of it being a forgiving campaign game where perma-death isn't lurking around the corner at every turn is good enough for me.

So let me get this straight. I can basically get 2 boxes of Reavers for about $10ish off the total price and basically get 10 Hellions plus rules for the game for free?

Dang.

Yeah, if the $60 US price is correct, that's $19 off the 6 reavers alone ($60 box price vs. $79 for the models separate). Then you get $50 worth of Hellions for freaking free!

Was planning on waiting to start my Corsairs in earnest, but... dammit GW! So many nice deals! I'm down for 1 or 2 of these things.

Also, does anyone have an idea of when this is set to launch yet?

I'm not up for sifting through 10 pages worth of comments. Who knows off the top of their head?

You can take a detachment called "Real Space Raiders" which allows 6 FA choices to be taken, optionally, so long as you purchase an HQ and 2 Troop core choices (Kabalite Warriors or Wyches (pffft)). Generally, the trend in 7th has been to remove the ability to change units into troops that come from different Force Organisation Chart slots. FA is where DE can purchase a lot of really cool stuff.

Can you handle the jandal?

Did anyone watch the gameplay video? What does it play like? Does it look like a good game?

looke pretty interesting and fun. Lot of choices you can make, limited turning arcs shooting, etc. The Hellion player grappled one of Phils Reavers and redirected it at the spire they were both right next to. Underslung weapons (heat lance etc) slightly reduce your maneouvrability and you maneouvre and rider skill level determine how easy or difficult it is to do things, avoid attacks and so on

I'm not going to re-read the lunacy that is the last few pages of this thread, but I'd be very surprised if anyone actually said that. Even that one guy banging on about how relatively difficult it might be for an Inquisitor to acquire power armour, I don't think even that guy said that.

Colonel Cabbage: The obvious thought is that this is a way to shift models that aren't selling well. No one uses hellions, and the reavers, while popular, are too expensive.

I use both. I don't play tournaments. These facts may be connected.

While it is well known that these models don't currently have stunning rules, there is a new book coming next month which could change all that. The models have always looked cool. The game itself looks fun with a deeper campaign layer than I expected. A bump to the effectiveness of these models in the core game, would sell a lot of people on this game and also see a new glut of people collecting Dark Eldar.

You can have any number of models in your gang. But your gang is split up into 'murder packs' of between 3-10 models. You randomly select which murder pack is used before the game, so it pays to evenly spread out your loot amongst everyone.

You can spend up to 750 points for your murder pack. You get more loot at the end of the game for less models, but risk being outnumbered.

Measurement is in inches. Unknown if measuring devices are included since they were using metal tape measures in the vid.
No rolling road. Just a table, which appeared to be at least 3'x3'. They didn't mention official table perimeter size. Free form combat game, like much of GWs tabletop war games.

Upgrades sound a lot like necromunda and bfg. You get a huge bonus for shooting a model in the rear arc, ala bfg.

Game begins by one side being the ambushed and the other being the ambusher. D6 roll, with modifiers. Highest is ambusher. If difference is one pip, the the ambushed may turn their models 90degrees. 2 pips is 45 degrees. This allows the ambushed to be able to avoid having the ambusher up their poopchutes right out the gates.

First phase of hunter quarry phase. This pertains to chasing a foe in their rear arc and target locking.
Turn structure is interleaved. You move one model, I move one model, repeat until all models moved.
There are maneuver rolls to make prior to movement, similar to bfg but based on stats and compared with a 2D6 roll.
Contains jink rules.
Next phase is combat. (Shooting and Melee combined) Again, interleaved. Combat is resolved again by stats compared to 2D6 roll.

Sounds like it could be interesting. Any word on how limited of a release this is? I'm interested, but I've started a 1k Sons project, and don't like to start a new (well, expand on an old) project until the former has been "completed" (as if anything is ever really completed in this hobby lol)

@Streetsamurai: just treat the worst injury result as 'out of the campaign'.

I am sorely tempted by this. The models would be an excellent addition to my current Dark Eldar at a very good price plus the game sounds fun.

No. Its a gang game, with fast movers.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Not at all; the Haemonculi have a scale of fees to suit every purse. Extra money just means faster, more effective turn-around and less experimentation is all.

I think there would be top flight Haemonculi who work for the elite. Then there would be less talented (or ill-favoured) Haemonculi who have to work for less well off patrons.

Is this game solely about Reavers and Hellions? Or will the rules support Venous, Raiders and Scourge or anything else flying?

Just reavers and hellions currently. I'd not be surprised if venoms and scourge turn up though
