I stopped playing 40k for quite some time and sold all my armies. After a while I wanted to get back into the hobby, but told myself I would only do so on one of two conditions. 1. Imperial Guard got a new codex, or 2. Dark Eldar got a new codex. Well, I've been playing Guard ever since the codex came out, but I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to start collecting Dark Eldar if they redid this codex.

Voted new army if released, not for me though, but for my other half.

She is quietly waiting for them to arrive and plans on making them her main army, well them and Sisters if they ever get a plastic range.

I'm very interested in Dark Eldar. If they're done right, they could easily become my new main army. They need a lot of work to the models, however. Honestly, I'd start collecting Deldar now without a codex update if they had a new JG model range.

Very interested I was planning on making them my first army but some of the local wargamers suggested I'd go with a updated and more forgiving (Play Style Wise) army. Glad they did but I would definitely get them if they where updated.

I'd be very interested in seeing an update,I've always had a "soft spot" for DE as they were my first army,plus I like the whole S&M/Pirate theme.

They need a new Codex and they need a new model line. I doubt I'd buy any, but I'm very interested to see them modernised and made into a fully fledged fighting force.

I'd love to see them get an update and I'd start an army if they got new models. GW should take a leaf out of Relic's book and learn from Soulstorm, which did DE quite well (apart from slowed gak like 6-man Warrior squads and the Beamy Death Ray (tm) that the Dais of Destruction has.

I'm with clthomps, but actually my Daughter plays them. Although I'm kinda leary about a new codex IMO just about every codex that has come out since 4th ed. has dissapointed me in one way or another.

I would like to see them revamped. That would be one less old codex.

DE really need updated and I'd maybe take into consideration to start an army of DE

Ive been a Dark Eldar advocate for years. I love the fluff, and the entire idea of Dark Eldar. Hell my wife wanted to play them so bad as her first army, but decided against it because of how outdated they are. When they finally get off their asses and do the Codex/minis, Im deffinetly going to be one of the people buying them. I mena, 1 army with 2 of us wanting to play them? Hell yes!

3rd option, for the sake of DE players, how a feel sorry for them, although some of their models (Talos, Raider) still seem appealing to me.

I've heard that Jes is doing the models. I'm mainly a Craftworld player, but they're most likely to be very nice and I'm bound to pick up a few.

If they ramp up the classic Eldar 80s look in them, I'm buying an army.

The range NEEDED a serious update.

With Goodwin behind the redesign, they're getting all that AND a serious, serious upgrade.

I'd like to see the models first, and then I'd make a decision. Rules are always nice but the butt-ugly models must go first.

I voted not interested, but thats only a personal opinion. I do think they deserve a good update, I'm just not interested in them at all.

Much less interested than I was two years ago when I sold my Dark Eldar army.

I'm very interested in them. I'm currently working on a couple of armies which I should have finished by the summer. If the DE come out late 2010 or early 2011 then I will be very open to starting them. Having an Eldar army and Dark Eldar army would be great for my collection and give me the ability to play both sides of the coin.

I think that with the current trend of 40k models the Dark Eldar will have some of the most impressive models to date.

I think their rules actually aren't that bad. My friend still plays a great DE list, and regularly wins with it. The model line needs love though, it gets absolutely no support from GW. I would start a DE army just so I could run around and spam dark lances.

Im extremely excited, AND I already collect them, BUT I wouldnt dust them off, cuz I use them often so they dont get dusty!

Just after reading back there, Im so glad that at least some people stick up for dark eldar!

I hate the way people follow the trend of what other people say, just cuz they either dont understand, or dont care and just want to get mutual responses, but as I said in one of my own threads;

The models arent necessarily all 'Ugly', That is your opinion only. The main problem is the fact theyre mostly metal, but I suppose you could say theyre out dated and obviously a much better job is going to be done this time round, that is just blatantly obvious beyond the need to discuss.

And they very much so are still a valid army on the gaming side of things. When you get a nicely balanced and themed army which is fully painted, you will probably forget that they are outdated and youl be surprised when you get your ass whooped!

Lastly, there are some amazing things that people have been doing with darkeldar, customizing them into a much more personal and interesting fighting force, although as they were my first army, mine are still by the book and painted for gaming. When the new models come out, I will get myself a small new force (a different kabal), and spend more time in the modeling and painting.

It wouldn't matter much to me, Though I have a friend who used to play dark eldar who would very much enjoy an update.

I don't have any real interest in playing DE but I would like to see them get an update for all the people who have them. I think they are more than a bit overdue.

Quite simply, we need DE now!
