I'm currently working on a large commission of Ultramarines... this thread will gather the pics as I go...
The general method is zenital preshading by airbrush with details and insignia done by hand. Yellow was chosen rather than gold for the rims to keep the bling factor down a bit
and give a grittier feel. The bases are by Secret Weapon Miniatures (the trenchworks range). They're nice. Better photos will be taken just before shipping the lot...

These look great man, you really pull it off, the darker grittier blue and rich yellow,

These ones clock in at around £13.50 each for conversion jobs- £8.50 per fig paintwork, plus £5 for the conversion. The flamer and Aurelius are stock, so just the £8.50 for painting. My prices are under constant revision - these are probably a little low for the time I put in.
Edit:
Complex works are more - vehicles (scouts!) etc. etc. It really is priced on a case-by-case basis.

You should probably put some more white or yellow on the dread. Right now it looks pretty Crimson Fist, and not so much Ultramarine.

The darker blue is a client request (I thought I'd mentioned it, but haven't till now)- I think I showed him some shots of BulldogUK's work on Bolter and Chainsword (search 'Crimson Ultrawings'). It's actually not that dissimilar to the old rogue trader Ultras' colours.
And erm, if you don't like what the dread's doing to the Eldar, wait till you see the assault squad I've planned. :-)

The bases are by Secret Weapon Miniatures. Just painted, static grassed and a bit of water effects here and there. The Eldar is an addition.
