I know morghur got a little nerfed in the recent BM book, but i'd like an opinion on him anyways sacrificing some otherwise worthless raiders to maybe hit your opponent with up to 6 chaos spawn on turn 3 seems like it could have potential. but such an army would take a bit of an investment to run and im not sure how tactically sound basing an army off of things that flail 2d6" a turn would be.
How reliable are chaos spawn as anvil units when they only have 3 wounds, even if they are unbreakable?

wast of time you'll get 2-3 spawns; you'd be better off spaming shamans with law of the wild in the hope of getting Savage dominion. (note i don't think thats a good idea ether)

I used to spam chaos spawn in the old book, but thats when I could give one the mark of slaanesh and make it move 3d6", they would hold units in place so that I could charge them with multiple chariots and maybe a beast herd in the rear. With only 2d6" they are just to slow.

Agreed, it's more a neat thing to do, and not a game-viable tactic really. Morghur was one of my favorite characters in the last book, really wild and game-changing (-breaking ). Now, I cannot see why anybody would take him, beyond nostalgia or to simply be special. Normally I'm all about that, buy Morgy 2.0 is so ... bleh
Having said this, you can be sure I'm working on a Morghur Spawn Spam list right now
- Salvage (who simply wants to be special)

Ungrol Four-Horn is my favourite of the new characters ... block of ungor with spears; every one completely underestmates them.

I just played against him yesterday. Its not the kind of the thing that wins you a game. He had made 3 spawn by the end of our game.
But it is a great ability. The reason its great is because I was looking at his army across the table. He already had several more units that i did. And running up the table, just off center from his main force, was a pack of dogs and morgor behind them. popping one a turn and sending it forward.
Basically it meant that my already hard choice of how to handle being outnumbered and probably outmanueuvered was becoming harder because of these stupid unbreakable spawn advancing as well. Its essentially adding to the target saturation that beastmen can do very well.

the book is in the air. There's some cool stuff and some worthless stuff. If you want a tournament winner you should prolly just use HE or DoC.
As far as the post above about having too many targets to shoot at, in the future when fighting beastmen, just try to cause panic checks on everything.
I have lost two battles because of taking 3 leadership tests in the wrong places. BM characters need some officer's school or something....
