Exactly on the mark, here's my list. I think they'll be my next army... anyone who see's this might wanna see http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/282724.page XDDD
So yeah... looking to thrash my friends more than usual, so I might build this army up in preperation for the next Necron 'dex. Plus, it means I'll always have a tourny decent army that won't cost as much to make as my fist's tourny plan... which is...somewhere..... >.< But yeah, I've always liked the sallies scheme, plus they're pretty awesome for tournies or even friendlies! Oh, yeah, the list is pretty self-explanetary... Vulcan in pod with Sternguardians, Termies in Raider, Tac squad on objective, pred just dakka'ing enemy armour or heavy infantry... As for the scouts and Land Speeder storm's... well, see for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SERbjnkNl8
So... whaddaya guys think? Awesome or not? o.O Unlike many lists I do.. well, all of 'em... I actually got about 1750pts the first time I stopped and added it up... well, with a bit of tweaking . I actually had about 25pts left, which I found somewhere to kill. Not sure about all the scouts, might drop one squad + speeder for a dread in a pod, I mean, who don't love that freakin' awesome new ven dread kit???

I am not a fan of predator annihilators they cost too much and die far too quickly. The scout squads in storms are awesome, they can tie up units giving you time to get those terminators into action. The sternguard squad is cool but you have WAY more combimeltas then you will actually need. If you are looking for a tank hunting unit then you're wasting points using sternguard. Take some of the CM off and add in a Heavy Flamer or two. That's how I run mine and coupling them with Vulkans heavy flamer you are really going to roast a lot of units.

Thanks! I'll bare that in mind with this army. Librarian added in place of pred to give some higher initiative attacks with the termies and to give me a big help against demons, especially greater daemons and the like, because it'll really open them up for my TH/SS termies, and 3 strength 6 power weapon (and force weapon if fighting characters/monstrous creatures) is never gonna be something fun to face. REVISED LIST: (about £200, excluding paints and getting all those combi-melta's... I mean I'm not buying 9 commander sets just for that.. £90 :/) Sallies 1,750pts army list HQ: 335pts Forgefather Vulcan He’Stan: 195pts Librarian in Terminator Armour with a Storm Shield, force weapon and Null Zone and Might of the Ancients:140pts Elites: 560pts 5 Assault Terminators with Storm Shields and Thunder Hammers: 200pts 10 Sternguard veterans, including sergeant with Powerfist, meltabombs and combi-melta and 5 veterans with combi-melta’s, two veterans with Heavy Flamers: 325pts Drop Pod: 35pts Troops: 445pts 10 Tactical Marines including Sergeant with meltabombs, Powerfist and combi-melta, 1 marine with a plasma cannon and 1 marine with a flamer: 215pts 5 Scouts, including Sergeant with Powerfist, Melta-bombs and Combi-melta and 4 scouts with CCW’s and Bolt pistols: 115pts 5 Scouts, including Sergeant with Powerfist, Melta-bombs and Combi-Flamer and 4 scouts with CCW’s and Bolt pistols: 115pts Fast Attack: 130pts Land Speeder Storm with Multi-melta: 65pts Land Speeder Storm with Heavy Flamer: 60pts Heavy Support: 275pts Land Raider Redeemer with Multi-melta and extra armour: 275pts

Looks solid enough. Personally, I'd never take one drop pod. The unit is to likely to get stranded and overwhelmed. But with the Scout/Speeder units, I think they should be okay. You can bring in some support if the nedd it.

I would normally agree with not taking the single drop pod but I have to agree that those storms full of scouts will really take some heat off the sternguard. I would even say drop the pod right infront of their battle line zip the storms up and assault a unit they flamed into an inch of it's life and assault the next closest squad that will be problematic for the sternguard. You have now supplied the enemy with 5 problems right in their battle line, an awesome shooting unit, two units who are stuck in, and two speeders with MM. None of those are fun to have in your face when you know an LR is lumbering toward you filled to the brim with TH/ SS terminators. All in all a solid list. I might have to try this one out myself.

I would evaluate how much you are spending on your army. IMHO, you are spending too much on elites, and not enough on troops. Your tac squad is immobile, and not going to be able to accomplish much. At a minimum you need to drop the librarian, and put them in a pod. A better answer is to ditch the sternguard, and put in at least one tac squad & a dread or something. Those are my 2 cents.
A list similar to yours I came up with:
Vulkan
5 SS/TH Termies
LRR MM/EA
Dreadnought MM/HF
Drop Pod
Dreadnought MM/HF
Drop Pod
Tactical Squad x10 Flamer/MM
SGT PW/MB
Drop Pod
Tactical Squad x10 Flamer/MM
SGT PW/MB
Drop Pod
Scout Squad Combat Blades
Sgt PW/MB
Scout Squad Combat Blades
Sgt PW/MB
Land Speeder Storm MM
Land Speeder Storm MM
That Weighs in at 1725. It my advice.

drop pod does not = mobile, drop pod just lets you deploy anywhere on the table, if you want mobility take rhinos, they are the same cost as a drop pod and they actually give you mobility. And if by PW you mean power weapon, the points are not worth it for tactical marines, they are there to hold objectives, not to charge into close combat. Lastly i would drop vulkan before i drop the librarian because psychic defense and null zone is more useful than the abilities vulkan brings to the army.

Drop Pods are not mobile, but they let you set the battlefield. The difference is though the bulk of the army comes down in pods so that counters the need for rhinos. Also, in the OP the tactical squad was without a transport of any kind. That is where is came up with the list. The debate from power weapon and power fist is whatever. I like the ability to get 3 I4 power weapon hit, but that is just me. Besides with the terminators a power fist isn't necessary. To use your logic there is no point is giving them any special weapons at all to save points. As for dropping vulkan, if you are going to load up on fire weapons a librarian isn't as useful.

No, trading the best IC in C: SM for the lackluster librarian is not more useful.

Well, it's just my personal preferance to have a librarian - a lot of SM tourny lists do, and I've worked him so that he fits it quite nicely with the rest of my army and still does the usual ant-psychic/daemons stuff. Personally, I don't want to drop him. Thanks for the input, though, guys! I am aware of the immobility of the tac squad, which is a lot different from my usual mech lists. I'm considering doing all pods, but that'd mean bye-bye scouts and Land Raider and in with a large number of dreads and a MotF :/ Tbh it wouldn't really be my thing. Problem is, with the scouts, for them to work I need my enemy to deploy in a beneficial way to me, and get the first turn.

You should definitely do what you feel fits your play style. I like the MotF and Vulkan with a bunch of MM/HF dreds in pods but it's not everybodys thing and I completely understand that. The speeders aren't totally wasted if you don't get 1st turn, you can outflank them for late game objective grabbing or late game shock assaults on already weakened units.

Outflanking can be incrediably unreliable.. although I guess with that 24" move.. could work.
I LOVE the whole Dread/pod thing, and it makes for a nasty army - but it's more what I wouldn't be able to include that annoys me :/
Oh yeah, Plasma Cannon or Lascannon on the Tact squad? I'm happy to drop the Sarge's Melta-b's for it, and I'd normally just say Lascan - but one lucky shot - 5 termies or anything can just go down like that - for 21pts! It's things like that that can change games drastically. I could go for another 10 man scout squad with Snipers, ML and Camo Cloaks for objective holding instead of tac marines, but marines I find are much more reliable, considering a smart enemy will just assault or heavy flamer your scouts in cover.

Yeah I hear you on that, I always seem to be leaving off something I really want when I take my dred pod heavy list. Sometimes I wish every game were an Apocalypse game

I find it's much more interesting to have smaller scale battles, makes it more tactical and it's more complex than just +++TITAN+++ ~boom~ yaywinz.
Units actually do stuff.
Anyway, back to the topic, uh... I guess I'll post something worthwile later xD
