So I was riding in my carpool when a friend of mine told me about a book he was reading. turns out it was a warhammer book about the von carsiens. I was thinking about playing WH40k but after that discussion I started thinking about playing WFB. so now I'm trying to decide what army to chose. I want to play a good army but I have somewhat of an evil inclination. so the armys I narrowed it down to is dwarfs and empire, but WoC also looks interesting. So does anyone have any advice on what army I should chose?

sorry nevermind, I just got back form my FLGS and there is little support for WHFB. so I guess I wouldn't be able to find anyone to play with.

First off, why is there little support for WHFB? Are the people in the shop not at all interested in it? Or is it that no one has tried to rally support for it?

I say find the little support that is there, and work with them to create a small 500 point army each. Then demo the game to the 40k crowd. A lot of times that is how people get convinced to give a game a try. 500 Points is easy pickings for most armies.

WOC is a pretty easy army to build to 500 points. Unit of Marauders, small unit of Warriors, a spawn, maybe a small unit of Horsemen, and a character. Shoot, it may even take less than that. The point is, people are more likely to be swayed by seeing the game and putting their hands on it. Don't be discouraged, gain some courage and try to push the game a bit. You may just be kind of suprised at the response you get.

yea I talked it over with my friends at school and they said they might try it with me. I think for my first army I will go with WoC. I was thinking of having an army of norse mercenaries, who were cast out of their tribes for turning away from chaos in favor of Ulric. and the marks of chaos and eye of the gods are the favor or Ulric. It's just an idea right now but I will develop it a bit more.

oh by the way I came up with a name for my general, I'm going to call him Ivar the boneless for his amazing dexterity. but behind his back he is called the spineless due to the story of how he was cast out of his tribe, he was chased out of his village after he rejected the chaos gods. it was said that even though he rejected chaos he must have been blessed by chaos for as he ran from the village he let out such a girley scream that surely he must be blessed by Slaanesh.
