My buddy and I were deep in Borderlands for 360 for over three weeks. What an awesome game. First-person shooter with a hack-and-slash feel as far as the constant enemies and loads of loot, not to mention levelling up at a steady rate. Most fun I've had with a video game in a long time. The ending was a bit of a let-down, as if the execs said 'k boys, time to wrap it up'. We just got to the aliens, man! What do you mean the Vault won't open for 200 years?!?

A good solid game, with an interesting level system and some great humour. Beautiful and unique graphics too. I felt the ending was underwhelming (no loot?), but it kept me busy for a few weeks. Recommended.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

The ending did indeed suck for Borderlands. I've beaten it with a buddy at least three times even on the second playthrough, which can get pretty tough.

Some of the DLC is pretty hard, too.

Finished a hobby project and now I'm back to playing Borderlands on Xbox Live. Still tons of people playing.

I like to have multiple characters going so I can easily join a 4-person game - playing with a full party is really fun.

I have played through Jakob's Cove and it was pretty fun, just a little short. Looking forward to 2nd playthrough and trying out that Secret Armory DLC.

I have also enjoyed working on the challenges/achievements that aren't too nuts. It's fun to try using a buncha different weapons to see what feels good to you.

I hope they have more areas like Old Haven/Dead Haven in future installments. I also really enjoy the indoor missions.

I, too have been playing the hell out of Borderlands. As far as the downloadable content goes, Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is fun as hell - it's quite long, actually. Mad Moxxie's Underdome is really difficult and rather one-dimensional - so far, the best part of it seems to be the equipment "bank" that lets you store weapons and other goodies instead of having to carry them around. My 50th-level Hunter has really crappy weapons, so I started a brand new Hunter to play the new "Hidden Armory" DLC, and I'm not quite high enough level yet to play it (unlike Zombie Island, which scales to the character's level, the "Hidden Armory" seems to be pegged at LV 35), but I'm really looking forward to it.

I, too am playing on the 360 - the only time I've had any framerate issues is occasionally the game will "hiccup" when going into a particularly gory death animation (skull-poppin' with a sniper rifle and the gore shoots up 100 feet into the air, for instance), or when there are lots of psycho midgets chasing you around...

I play on PC. After so many years, I can never go back to playing FPS games on consoles - the control is just so much better on keyboard/mouse than it is on two joysticks. I know a lot of people swear by console controls, but I find it way more accurate to use a mouse to aim, rather than the joystick.

Haven't actually finished Borderlands, now that I think about it...just never got around to it. Got kinda bored halfway through when I noticed that the missions consisted of "Fight your way through X location to kill Y boss and/or collect Z item." Heck, the game didn't even bother to hide that fact - you even repeat several missions as you go through new areas (Find the weapon pieces to build a new gun, find all the audio logs of the crazy chick...)

I absolutely loved Borderlands, played the entire thing through co-op with a friend. The ending was a bit of a let-down, but the journey there... Oh, what a great game. Loads of fun, fast paced, lots of loot, interesting enemies, and it is drop dead hilarious. Between Scooter, Patricia, and everyone in between.... Just phenomenal.

Level 58 berserker, I'm not sure but I think I still have an eridian rifle, I may have sold it though, there not that good tbh. The best weapons are probably found in the secret armour killing crawmerax the invincible.

Been thinking of getting it for a while. May well do if I ever see it for £10-15.

Do you really need to play it coop to have fun, of can you sit there playing with yourself and still have a good time?

I had fun playing it by myself and co-op. Finally got the wife convinced to play a FPS. We both laughed hysterically through the whole game. Yeah no secret the end was disappointing but it was great playing up to that point. Playing on PS3 BTW. only had a one or two hiccups while playing when there was massive amounts of explosions and psychos running at us other than that it was really smooth.

What do you guys mean by 'second-play through'? Do you mean you started a new one or you played through with the same character again?

And what the heck is the secret armoury? Maybe I put the game down too soon, haven't even tried the expansions...

IIRC, you can start the game again at the same level you finished (Never got around to finishing it, mind you, just guessing here) with everything scaled up.

As for the "secret armory", it's one of the expansion DLCs, and apparently very difficult. The three expansions are: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdrome Riot, and The Secret Armory of General Knoxx.

Yes, the second playthrough is available at the main menu once you complete the main storyline, when you choose a character it gives you the option of playthrough 1 or 2. And IMHO the secret armoury wasn't that difficult, I did it easily on Playthrough 1 and I only have the last bit to do on Playthrough 2. In a week or so I'm gonna get the other 2 expansions so I'll do them to get from 58 to 61, then finish Knoxx on Playthrough 2 and kill crawmerax the invincible on Playthrough 1. Phew, a lot of Playthrough words there. And finally, yes you should definitely pick up the game again, it is immense IMHO. Although agreed the ending was kinda crap, they coulda atleast made the FB drop some decent weapons.

Lol I love that game, sadly tho I got distracted about halfway through (I think) by MW2, Assassins Creed 2, and Mass Effect 2. I'm trying to get a friend to buy it for 360 so I'll have someone to co-op with.

Best moment so far: the first time I encountered a midget psycho. I was like "HOLY FETH THOSE ARE INSANE MIDGETS" and then I blew its head off with a shotgun. I lol'd

Killing the midgets with fire or acid is also faily hilarious due to the high-pitched shriek they make

I went to visit crawmerax the other day, I'd never seen him before, I'm level 59. :/
I died, unfortunately I cannot say that I died by trying to brave the big guy, but by running away backwards and falling off the edge of the map.

Did you play Multiplayer on at least playthrough 2 or above with level appropriate people? It gets harder. Playing with people well above your level also makes it a little to easy.
