Hi. this is a new chapter tactics rule, and the character who takes it:
Master auron
WS6 BS5 S4 T4 W3 I5 A3 Ld10 Sv2+ 175 points
Wargear: master crafted Bolter, special issue amunition (bolt pistol) Armour of tichiatius
Special rules: ATSKNF, Orbital bombardment, relentless(?)
replace combat tactics for:
Don't give up, men!
All marine sergeants may use is Ld of 10.
or
cut them Down!
Any tactical squad that Auron is attached to may fire one more shot then usual.
also thinking of a rule that will allow tactical squads to take special issue ammo instead of special or heavy weapons.

armour of tichiatius is special artificer armour that allows the user a 4+ invulnerable save
or
artifier armour with a built in power sword (the the form of a boot angry marines!)

good/bad?

*Relentless - Does he give it to his squad? If so, its OP on Devs, if not, its ok.

*Ld10 for all squads is ok
*Cut them down is OP - attach him to a Dev squad w/4 Heavies? What about a Sterngaurd w/10 Combi weapons - Thats 20! Melta shots (or 30 Plasma).
*Giving Tac squads Special Ammo is daft, as it makes them too much like Sterngaurd, which are already a troops choice with one of the SC's
All 3 of these at once? Crazy.

*Doen't need a special 4++, as he'd have Iron Halo anyway.
*Don't be memey. If you want a built in PW, have it sticking out of his wrist guard or something.




So, is there any fluff reasons for this at all?

This could work:
WS6 BS5 S4 T4 I5 A3 Ld10 Sv2+
MC Bolter (w/Special Issue Ammo), Power Weapon, Iron Halo, Artificer Armour

Not One Step Back! - Replaces Combat Tactics - The *Insert whatever chapter here* are resolute in the face of certain annihilation, and will never give ground to the enemy. All Sergent models are Ld10. In addition, any Sergent with a Boltgun may purchase Specail Issue Ammunition for 5 points.

Points:
125 + 40 (Termie armour (PW+SB) ~ Artificer+PW+Boltgun+Relentless) + 5 (MC Bolter) + 10 (SIA) + 10 (Chapter Tactics) = 190 points

Armys: , , , Skaven
Number of Threads Won: 1

I like your idea, but I dislike your assuming that by tactical squads, I meant EVERYTHING IN POWER ARMOUR.

Even if it's only Tacs, you could still take 2 heavy weapons with a Tac squad, which would mean 4 heavy weapon shots. And even if he made a mistake confusing what you meant, please don't call other users stupid, it leads to flaming.

Iggy, stop just speaking. use your ability to create meaningful threads, instead of just spamming, thats my job.

Anyway, it's a custom chapter. I'm going to assume that alot of you don't understand tac squads, because they can only take a special weapon and one heavy weapon.

Now, the idea is:
Statline: CM
rules: CM
replace combat tactics with:
Not one step back! all sergeants may be allowed to use his Ld of 10 as long as he lives, additionally, all sergeants may fire their bolters as assault 2 instead of rapidfire.

The problem I find with homebrew rules is the flow of creation. They tend to go...

What rules do I want? > How can I back that up in fluff? > Lets tack on a cost > Post it on a forum

Really it ought to go...

What's the story behind my character? > How do I achieve that with stats, USRs and, if required, a one-off rule > How much should it cost? > Playtest with friends and other player > Go back through the stages > Post my tested suggestion on a forum for others to try

This character just seems a bit random to me. There's already a Space Marine Character who lets you use his Leadership across the army. Have a look at him, play a few times and see if you need anything more. If so, go through the second flow chart...

He meant heavy like melta or plasma. Two plasmas would mean 6 rapid firing str 7 ap 2 shots. Melta and multi-melta means 4 melta shots. If that`s not OP i don`t know what is

Angry Marines already have rules for powerfeet, look up their unofficial codex, kinda silly & OOT but I'm working on revising it to be playable

Custom tailoring lists is the trademark of a bad player who doesn't know how to build an army that can adapt to different opponents. I play Warhammer not rock-paper-scissors

They have huge pistons and powered areas added to their shins and forelegs to allow quicker movement to close in with the enemy. AND IT LETS EM BOOT STOMP!

From the Codex I think it added +1I, +1A, and +1S on the charge. Or something like that.
