Storm Raven Conversion, with plastic dreadnought. Comments, suggestions welcome.

looks really really cool, only question though is why does it have a twin linked lascannon on the front? Doesn't the storm raven have assault cannons?

Again looks fantastic!

I think you've got the weapons loadout a little wrong....but it still looks awesome! Looks like a ton of bitz went into it, what all did you use?

No, weapon load out is correct. You can trade an linked assault cannon for a linked laz cannon. You can also swap the linked heavy bolter for a linked multi-melta. I was able to consult the Blood Angels codex at my local GW store (store preview copy) and this load out is legal.

Parts that I used is mainly from the Valkyrie model. I used some plastic card for support, I also used the whirlwind missile pods and hatch. Linked laz cannon was from bits from the land raider. Finally, the multi-melta are from the land speeder kit.

That is pretty sweet, but why are there never any painted pictures?

This is like the 3rd converted storm raven, all of which are awesome, but none are painted! What gives?

Some people like to convert but don't like painting. Such as myself. I make all kinds of conversions, but never paint them.

Note: D+ can take over 12 hours of driving in Canada. It's no small task here.

I like it, though the sides seem a bit small for marine. And I fear for the dread's life!

Other than that I like what you did.

I for one welcome another storm raven.

That makes Valkyries the ancestors of most of the conversions yet.

Looks nice and ( a bit top-heavy without the dread ) should represent a space marine vehicle well in design.
Does it claim the GW special internal crew compartment expansion ?
Cause it has the GW-typic volume all around, but still tons of passengers inside.

Here is what I have so far in painting, still need to do highlights, detail, and the dread. Went with a Darker Scab red for the base.
Forgive me it's been a while since I painted so easy on the critique.

Though it doesn't look like a 40k flyer to my mind, it's well done. Poor dreadnought, however! He sure must get dizzy during the flight. :-D
Just one more thing: why did you use multimeltas for your conversion? Wouldn't they be sort of useless on a fast flaying vehicle?

That was one nice and possible conversion for ideal Stormraven, by almost purely using Valkarie kit.

Wow, nice. I might have to steal this idea for when I get around to making a Stormraven. There's a couple of things I'd change, but it's a really nice idea. The best part is it's almost entirely made from a Valkyrie, rather than a kitbash of hundreds of kits

Great job!

Looks great but the turbines seem a little oddly placed, like they should be placed maybe an inch or two further behind.

Aside from that, absolutely frakking amazing.

It looks too forward-heavy, like it would just nosedive as soon as it took off. It's a well executed conversion, it just looks a bit unbalanced.

Wow, awesome conversion work and excellent painting.

ThousandSons: I'm the same here, i have a scout with a sniper rifle (that has a stand on the barrel) is crouching down and pointing with gun to his left, and looking his shoulder in the same direction the bird that is on his shoulder is looking. The results of me painting it would make me cry.

Rogan: hey it can be a Death Company dreadnought on it, making it dizzy during the flight is the least of your worries.

Nice conversion and paintjob

The real threat to the imperium is not:

it is :
92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.
95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My one tip would be to make the dread's magnet inside of it, not sticking out. You can do this by drilling a hole into the plastic and then gluing the magnet in. Other than that, this is amazing!

This truly is the better Stormraven that I have seen on the forum. It has more of the feel of being a fast assault troop carrier and not just a gunship to me. The paint job is awesome your not giving yourself enough credit and the dreadnought was a great touch to the back of it.

You have my total Thumbs up and I hopefully can maybe try to copy it a later date for myself!

This is good.... isn't it?
