There was a thread floating around here a few months ago about a company that was going to release a steampunk sort of game about aerial ship combats between WWI era ships.

Unfortunatelly I can't seem to find it anymore and I don't remember what the company name was, could anyone help me?

It may have been Leviathans. The game is being produced by Catalyst Game Labs (current producer of Battletech and Shadowrun).

"Leviathans is a steampunk game that simulates combat between warships that have taken to the air in an alternate history 1910. The king leviathans, battleships, are the largest vessels. Maneuvering in support are light cruisers, destroyers and other vessels. Will you captain your fleet for king and country, expanding your nation’s power and becoming legend? Or will you fall from the sky, forgotten?"

There is also Aeronef, which is already released and at £5 is a bargain. Also great fun to play!

Brigade models produce the models for game and at aroound £20 for a starter fleet, they are very reasonable.

There are related water-based games (Aquanef) and land-based games (Land Ironclads) which link in if you want.

"Yours in a white wine sauce" is also a great blog by a fan of the game with loads of pics and ideas:

Where are the models for this game? I couldn't see any on the pages linked to.

Sounds awesome - reminds me of Last Exile.

GDW's Space 1889 Soldier's Companion covered this kind of stuff.

It was quite a wacky idea at the time it was released but now it can be seen to have anticipated the Steampunk movement.
