Started gaming at 12, started raving/clubbing/'partying' at 16 ('94) main hobbies included getting blotto and hooking up/trying to hook up with women (note, they ARE two different hobbies that were mostly mutually exclusive). Got most recent woman pregnant. Started gaming again because getting blotto and hooking up/trying to hook up with women as hobbies is frowned upon by my wife and gaming is not.

I never did D/D. I play 40k a lot until about 8th grade and then the store closed and moved to far away to drive.
I just painted a bit and the models got put on the back burner.
I pretty much worked and did Tang Soo Do (since 4th grade) all in highschool, only small amounts of painting starting w/ my senior year. Oh and I did a lot of computer work for a company.
I got back into it when I got out of school and took time off before college. Now that I am back and working full time (havent finished college) I am painting more, playing very little. Very busy.
Oh but we are thinking of playing D/D.

Beef, in American Football, the big fat dudes in front on each side of the ball are the defensive and offensive lines, respectively.
The defensive line tries to grab and crush the quarterback (the guy who throws the ball) or the running back (who runs with the ball) before they get the ball further upfield.
The offensive line tries to stop them, and tries to make gaps between them so the running back can run upfield if that's what the offense if trying to do on that particular play.
The offensive line is technically forbidden from grabbing and holding onto the defensive players. They are just supposed to block (push and shove). Holding breaks the rules, and can cause the refs to give your team a penalty. In practice, however, the offensive line NEEDS to hold to some extent, just to buy time. The rule is really selectively enforced, mostly being called if it makes a difference on that particular play.

@Mannahnin thanks for the explanationm. So the quarterback gets all the girls usually. It like in football or as you guys call it "soccer" the striker is the main guy.

Nah the goalie gets the blame if they lose the game. Always the crappest position to play. In school they usually put the crappest player in goal or the Fat kid in the hope that his size might block the ball.

Soccer for the duration (Captain last 2 years) Basketball 9th-12th grade (Captain last year) Class President Chess Club EDIT: I think it's obvious that Beef spent his formative years mastering the subtle complexities of the English language. I was a total nerd in high school. The only reason I didn't get beat up all the time was the fact that I was bigger than everyone else (6'4", 180 pounds by 10th grade). While most of my friends were discovering the wide world of smoking behind the gymnasium and making out under the bleachers, I would be reading The Thrawn Star Wars trilogy for the 4th time. I was the opposite of sexy. Now, 5 years later, I'm a veteran and flying helicopters for the Army. "Most likely to Succeed" in my class works in a Dilbert-esque cubicle and hates his life. Ah sweet irony.

You know the funny thing is I have A levels in both English Literature and Language. Mostly my bad spelling is due to the fact I type at work in a dark room with the lights on and I also never bother to go over my post before I submit it.
Yes I know it would be easier for people to understand what I am saying but then I would not be the "slaughterer of the printed english language." anymore

No one ever takes an interest in anything I say, so I just now noticed that there were follow up questions.
Taught us how to shove the other players pads up so that it would block their airway, kidney puch when the ref isn't looking. Exciting things like that.
I played goalkeeper in soccer(football) and it is true that we don't know how to play and also that we either take all the blame for losing or none of the credit if we win. It's the postion of manic derpressives and such.
