Symbio - make sure there are no air bubbles in the jar or you'll end up with glass everywhere! It took about 30 minutes of searching to find the best one.
Ender - thanks for the suggestion. The only person who's getting a cast of these is my co-worker. He is actually footing 1/4 the bill for the warhounds, of course he's getting the 4th hound.

Seriously looking good, but I would be careful about casting GW bitz, even for home use. You're certainly talented enough to use scrape computer parts, plumbing supplies and the like rather than GW skulls and industrial terrain.

Kyoto-san was a humble government worker. Everyday he shuffled
from his house to the embassy, bearing documents to be signed by
great public officials promising big promises between his native land
(so far away) and "the Red Land" (where all government officials learn
their trade). He did not meet the eyes of those that signed or sent him
with orders to get signed. His eyes remained low, bowed, respectful,
and Kyoto-san only ever saw the folded hands, the desks, and the
feet of those men in power above him.
In this way, Kyoto-san lived. - Malfred |

Can you please list the specific type of resin that you are using? (Maybe even a link?)
I've been using Micro Mark CR-600 but want to find something a little more like what you've got there. Like the color and finish of it.
Great work so far- looking forward to seeing the entire group when complete!

Foda, after watching yall complete the first Titan, all those years ago, I cant believe yall are doing another one, even if it is smaller. lol This is def one of those things youll have to show me when I get back to the states. lol and that pic from GT Dallas...what year was that? lol I still have that ARMY shirt as well, lol. That Titan blew people away then, and it still does now. Its crazy how good this one is coming out, not in a bad way of coarse, but how you got to mold all those pieces. I remember when some molds back in the day had flaws and it took several tries just to get a good one!

LittleLeadMen - I'll get some contact info on my next update. Redmond - Its good to see you posting again. Keep your head down while you're over there! When you get back we'll have to build some thunderhawks. Time for the update! As you know i want the guns to rotate, so to make them removeable as well I started with a magnet holder Closed and attached I then started on the weapon mounts here's the first version Here you can see the magnet holder a little better Then it was mold time The first pulls Test rotation Not attached to the wing Well after some tests I found out that the two 8lb magnets were not enough. So it was time to go magnet shopping. I found a magnet shop in Plano, Texas and got some 33lb magnets! Only downside is they're thicker than the previous magnets. So it was time to rebuild the magnet holder. Well I'm going to go make the most of my day off!

Do you have a cap or anything to cover the head of the fastener, something appropriately AM brand? It all looks good so far.

Yeah, its good to be posting again! Its good to see that your building some (not so) "little" titans for the big guy to play with, lol I know Albion was getting lonely. But how long do you think itll take to finish the titan? I know your building 4, so the other 3 shouldnt take long since youll know how to put it all together...

The cap buts up against the wing so there's really none of it you'll ever see.
My folks brought home some cool boxes I can use for the basis of the guns.
All 4 are being built at the same time. One is a little more ahead than the others but they all end up catching up before I move onto the next step.

Well 9 days without an update, I'll bet y'all thought I was taking the holiday off.
I've been working on the first weapon, the turbo laser destructor.
First start off with 4 plumbing parts, 2 lamp parts, a "project box" from radioshack, a hex bolt, a nut, the 33 lbs magnet from earlier, as well as the casts of the weapon mounts:
Another pic:
I took a cutting from the manufactorium building and a miscast from the engine compartment and made a bottom for the gun:
This will get its own mold later
Add in a havoc launcher, a couple of grab handles, a few more COD parts, a bunch of stuff from the old Imperial accessory sprue:

Right side:

Front view:
Left view:
Attached to the wing Left view:
Attached rear view:
Attach full left view:

What silicon and resin are you using to make the casts? Or where do you get it from?
That is great work. Can't wait to see the end result!

Toreador - I just found the website again (I usually call in my orders).
http://www.jgreer.com/index.htm
I usually get the AeroMarine Casting Resin, and QM 128 Pourable, one gallon kit (10:1 Silicone)
If you order from him tell him Dave Christensen from The Colony sent you We've been doing business for a few years now and John's a swell guy.
JohnHwangDD- I've had the set up for about 3 years. I started making molds about 10 years ago. I just never posted my molds much because most forums have anti-molding rules.
snorkle - yeah its fun to see different WIP threads that start out w/ the first step "Gather materials."
I've found it also makes the job less daunting when you know where to start.

Your project makes me smile, but mabye not for the same reason as all the others. I do apreciate all the intricate detail in your works, but I think the best part is nothing is going to waste. What I mean by that is I have an obsessive bits box, I even save sprue bits, you never know when you will start a conversion and go wow that is perfect for it. With all your bits, not only are they being used in creative and beautiful ways, your getting more than one unique use out of them. By making the molds, you are going a long way on a lot fewer parts, meaning your not stuck missing that rare 2nd ed dreadnaught pack you just used on your last project your out of. And hey! When your all done you will actually have 5, the 4 moulded and the original plastic bit one.
Anyway just wanted to say its great to see multiple uses out of rare parts.

Thank you so much for the link to your casting resin. I'm looking forward to using it on my project!
The titans are looking great! The weapon systems, in particular, are very cool. It's going to be amazing to see all four of them at the same time.

WOW! I am very impressed by this project, it would be amazing if you were only building one, but building 4 ???! The simple fact your using moulds to duplicate parts is great, I also have to mention that these types of threads usually produce a titan/model that is nice, but pales in comparison to the GW or FW originals for detail and quality,Yours on the other hand is brimming with detail and the quality of your work is on par with FW.
I cant wait to see more !

Orock - Thanks, I have a steel legion army so I've got a boat load of the old Imperial Accessory sprue.
I've got a cabinet of bits for easy converting, and a box full of tank bits I've been going into for this project.
migsula - Thanks, coming from you that's a heck of a compliment!
LittleLeadMen - Thanks, I hope Mr. Greer's resin can help you. Its great stuff.
Boss_Salvage - Thanks, I'm working on the vulcan mega bolter and a plasma cannon.
kitsandbits - Thanks, the one that separates mine from forgeworld is the fact that I care about what my product looks like. The majority of forgeworld stuff I've seen (and I own a good bit myself) is rather poor quality.
Phoenix - Thanks, there may be one in the morning before I go to work, or in a few hours.
Brother Bartius - Thanks, y'alls comments keep me going. This project is a royal pain sometimes.
Redmond - Thanks, did you see my other P&M thread for my blood angels? I'm afraid its probably dropped of the 1st or 2nd page but its got some cool pictures of my new OTT army. Here's a trip down memory lane for you.
A pic of you, Joel, and myself at the 1st Dallas GT.

I wanna say that I still have that shirt in my drawer back home, couldnt give it up. And its also wierd to see me with glasses and without tattoos. Ill try and check out your BA thread right now... real quick, are you ever going to use these models in big games?

Well I guess its time for another update.
Now I know the best weapon for the hounds to have is all turbo lasers but the other guns just look so cool.
So I started building a vulcan mega bolter:
Barrels attached:
Left side view:
Front view:
I was cleaning up my game room and I found some cool light up sticks, and i think they'll make a sweet plasma blast gun:
Here's the light section:
As you can see there are 3 different LEDs red, green, and blue:
When these lights flash they'll give you epileptic seizures :
And here's the new battery holder:

Redmond - of course it'll be bits'ed up. Nothing stays flat.
Papavich96 - Thanks! Although my sorcerers ability stops at conversions, I wish it applied to Calculus II.
Well while I was at work today my father wired up the plasma guns, and he was nice enough to Ttake some WIP pictures.
First he glued some plex onto the front of the box and drilled holes in it for mounts:
Next he mounted the weapons:
Then he wired up the battery holder to the weapon:
Next was some foam to hold the batteries in:
Test shot:
The middle light blins slower than the outer lights ( which blink crazy fast):
I may have some more updates tomorrow.
