Cool... I've pulled out this EDITED BY MOD from 1983... I hope I can do it justice.

edit: (note from legoburner here - we try to keep things anonymous to prevent voting favouritism, so I edited out your potential entry model description to keep it valid)

I've got an old metal =I= Edited For Anonymity =I=, 2e era though there is a nice cheap =I=Edited For Anonymity =I= that has been gathering dust at my FLGS.

I decided to bust some models out of the bitz box to experiment with the new washes. This couldn't have been timed better.

I decided to break really old skool fig from the bits box and started to work on it.

Just one worry: as my camera was away across the Finland at the time the WiP shot was made with my phone. You can't really see much of the fig except that it's primed in black. I hope this is ok, as the fig has now the base coats on(gotta keep going when the inspiration hits )

This sounds interesting. After sellign almost all my models I stumbled on a [DESCRIPTION DELETED] from my 40K2 days. I think a deceased friend of mine painted it, but it's literally the ONLY model I currently own and have access too. I guess if I dunk it in brake fluid (any other recommendations for strippers?) I can get a WIP shot.

Now, to decide on a color scheme...

Yes, that model is old enough, ANY model is, if YOU consider it old school. Guys, please stop writing what you're painting...it's meant to be anonymous.

(also, Golga, to enter you have to take a shot of the model before painting, the idea of the comp is to paint something for it, not show something old)

I just moved, so this slipped my mind! I've got all my paints out now, so all I need to do is find my -=Edited out=- in that set of -=Edited out=-, you know, the box with the -=Edited out=- and then just get to work on the biggest -=Edited out=- in the -=Edited out=-.

Great!

Chance favors only the prepared mind.

Anything you want as long as it fits the basing guidelines. You can even scratch sculpt something if you want.

I play:
yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.

Can we do multiple submissions? I have a few oldies lying around, and the one I intended to do is sort of striking me as blase at the moment, while the others are exciting. So if I get around to doing both, or say 50, can I put up a few for competition?

Also, does "primer with some base coat" count for the naked model pic? It hadn't really occured to me that the one was pretty darn old school when I started.

I can't remember if I made the ruling on that in the past or not. I'm going to limit entries to one per person. With how many entries it looks like we'll be getting this time out, I have to limit entries!

Primer with some base colors will be acceptable. But it's subjective there, if I feel the model is nearly completed in it's WIP shot compared to its Finished shot, the entry will be disqualified! ^_-;

Now, to find some time to sit down and even START on my own entry...

I'm entering for the first time. I'm really looking forward to this. I was buying something off of ebay, and happened to notice the soon to be mine Thing Which Shall Not Be Named (TWSNBN). It was fate. It was one of my favorite models from back in the day, and I had always regretted not picking it up. Thanks, Dakka, for having this contest.

Vehicles don't fit the basing requirements for the challenge unfortunately.

I have finally picked out the model I'll be painting! I had to have my wife pick it x.x I get too ambitious for my own good and start looking at tons of different things at once.

Now, to find some time to sit down and get that knocked out! I could always just bring it to work with me on an Engine day ^_-....

16 days left folks!

If I have time I might see about getting some more of the models painted and enter my fav. I highly doubt that will be the case though x.x....If you take a look at my Random WIP thread over in P&M Blogs, you'll understand x.x.......

I painted a unit and I'm just going to pick out the one with
the fewest mistakes. It's the only way I can really get things
done. I'm not very good at the "paint one model at a time"
approach.

Does a classic =][= Edited For Anonymity =][= mini count in the contest? If so, I may be breaking out an OLD =][= Edited For Anonymity =][= and throwing some paint on it

The only real requirements for the challenge is that you keep the basing restrictions in mind. It doesn't matter what system it comes from or what scale. Just that you keep in mind, no larger than 40mm!

k I have one question what if the models already primmed but not painted can I take the before pic of the primed model and then start painting or do I have to scrape off the primer?
