This is the reason we play 40k.

The thought of well painted armies , a good board to play on, and a well thought mission to play. Just awesome!

Thanks for sharing. An Inspiration to all of us of what can be done.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone. Was definitely fun to setup the table and line up our toys. Narratives/story/scenario always makes the game more enjoyable...and nothing beats the feeling of seeing completed armies on the table. Cityfight has always captured the 40k theme for me more than other tables...so we've slowly added to it. We like the idea of Stalingrad in the 41st era!

I cannot take credit for the sculpting of the Custodes, only the painting. The Custodes were sculpted by Grytz from Grytz Minis (Poland sculpter, what the hell do they put in the water over there?). Great guy, great artist and good to work with. Highly, highly recommended. The rules for the Custodes are pretty strong but they are cost prohibitive (and erratic). They have a rule where if they are not engaged in HTH at the start of your turn you roll a dice; On a 1 they vanish. This is meant to represent the mysterious side of the Custodes and the fact that they work outside of any normal command.

Thanks again, our next report will be fantasy instead of 40k.

Where can the rules for the custodes be found?

I've got IG 'Crons Marines and Daemonhunters. My imperial forces tend to mix together.

Real nice battle report!

The only thing i have objections on was the scenario rule that allowed the xenos to remove units from the battlefield and using them as re-inforcements the next turn.. Feels like in a final assault combat all units one has would be thrown into combat right away, there are no reserves when it's all or nothing in my eyes...

Seems like the marines had it rough with dice rolling, or the xenos were lucky with their saves? ;P

Guardsman Tom, you are hereby given a field promotion to Sergeant for your excellent procurement of enemy information.
You have supplied your commanders with intel that will allow us to dominate the latest threats from our enemies.
Congratulations, your command takes effect immediately..

True, but the Marines also started out with more advantageous buildings, and cover...so it seems relatively balanced.

That was an incredibly inspiring battle report AgeOfEgos! Now I know that it isn't just GW who are capable of doing such things. The pictures are really cool!
