The only problem I have is that the face seems very two-dimensional and contrasts far too much with the gigeresque feel the body has by perfectly mimicking the old gw Skullz logo. The body is great work though.

A little update:

One of our members who goes by the name of svenkillabearski has been working on a dragon. It has been sent in and is being cast as we speak:

Another member, lordbloodthehungry, has been working on an armoured daemonic creature he dubbed the "Juggerprince":

The dragon reminds me a bit of the dragon that Heresy multi-part miniatures is making.Like the weird lizard looking daemon thing though.

I'll have to wait until Ed finishes up the casts. I'll ask him for some other views of this creature. I think it's just the picture though because wouldn't he otherwise fall over?

Any suggestions on how to improve it?

I've seen some WIP's of it, it looks really cool! I wonder how it will stand next to this dragon, maybe the bits are (of course with green stuff work) interchangeable.

By the way, the Great Coat Commander is out:

Dont like the dragon at all sorry >< ( honestly looks like a T-Rex With large arms )

I really like the concept of the juggerprince though! But like others mentioned the pose....

Looks like he fell over while the green stuff is drying >.<

Don't worry about it! Each one their own tastes I guess. I do want to mention that our members aren't professional sculptors. The idea behind Troll Forged Miniatures is that it's a learning place for sculptors and that people can get their models cast (and potentially sold). Philip wrote a small bit about it over here.

So yeah, if you're a sculptor, artist or just interested in us or willing to give more feedback you should definitely check out the forum!

Oh yeah, I asked lordbloodthehungry about the pose of the Juggerprince, I hope he'll reply soon! He did mention he is going to make some upgrade parts and variations on the model later on.

The daemon's lower legs look too short to me, out of proportion with the rest of it

I found two blurry WIP pictures of it, I think the legs look short, but they are bent so if they were straight the legs would be normal, or even longer length:

EDIT:

I think this picture will explain more:

He sort of looks to me like he's been struck in the side of the head and is collapsing,or falling foward.Maybe a more natural pose with him leaning back with that axe thing in the air would look cooler/better.Yet it is a killer idea.

Hmm good point! However, I think that a little bit of conversionwork could solve that! But I do see what you mean!

By the way...why is there an American flag next to my name? I'm not from the US and I'm not in the US...odd...

I'm not saying it is bad or needs improvement, it is kinda nice to see a generic dragon that doesn't immediately resemble a D&D dragon variant.

I think it might have looked a little better having more variance in the size of the scales, but it is a nice piece.

Ah ok, must have been an understanding on my part (English is my third language). My bad if I sounded all defensive, I wasn't it's just that I'm curious why people have a certain opinion so that we as a community can learn from it and improve, seeing as that we are practically beginning with this kind of stuff.

EDIT:

How big is the dragon?

Let me get back to you on that! I've put the question through to Ed (also known as Hive Trygon, the guy who own Troll Forged Miniatures and does all the casting work)

The multipart one you mean?

That was is just a multipart customisation madness kit, it filled with several torsos, legs, heads, arms, weapons, wings, claws, etc.

Those greatcoat guard are very impressive. However, I saw the jugger-prince and all I could think of was "Landshark!"

tbh, I REALLY want one of those Dragons. How much are they gonna cost? If it is something reasonable ($50 USD or close to there) I would defiantly pick one up just to paint and put on display.

Either way, I would REALLY like to know when that model comes out (might convert it into a bad ass chaos dragon or some such, I have an extra mounted Khorne Lord with no mount that may do the trick)

keep up the great work!

If I'm not mistaken Ed/Hive Trygon cut the model up for casting. If that is the case I think the pose wouldn't be such a problem since you could simply repose it sort of speak.

I'll check the weapon later, got to run off to work in a bit!

@BLARGAG!!!: I don't know yet, Ed just got the models in this week and he has been very busy with casting those and a bunch of other models (orders for the Great Coats included), sculpting the daemon, his job and looking after his baby boy. I hope to hear more about this in the coming weeks.
