Yep, I agree with that and saw that.

look at the sharp mountain in the background beside the lander, it is standard matt background image that is occassionally mirrored horizontally for a bit of vairety in the backdrop. The image is thus likely not even a backdrop but a photoshop file.

Wow I completely missed those, I suppose dropping a fortress from the sky would be pretty cool, and I think every race could have something like that. (orks=rocks, tyranids= some biological thingamagiger, Eldar=some eldar building, and so on)

Yeah, note that the Citadel is the exact same distance from the new 'building' on the Cadian Cmd Squad box as well.

And honestly, that building looks kinda boring...

i think it is supposed to be the new bastion i have read the new planet strike book and there is a stratagem that lets you drop a bastion in like a drop pod
oh teleport barrage is funny as hell ork players will laugh like drains and marines will quake in fear
all models in a building WITH an armour save must make one ANYONE WHO PASSES IS MELTED INTO THE WALLS AND KILLED

yesterday my buddy got to drop a SPACESHIP on me (another strategem) 4 bits of spaceship scattering 3 D6 each from the central point ALL MISSED!!!!!! funny as hell!!!good game but makes you think a lot more and makes the game more reactive i was defender and half my army got put in reserve...but all attackers arrive from reserve as well either by deepstrike/drop zone for non vehicle units or just dropzone for bigger units (tanks etc) BUT the heavy drop strat lest you deepstrike one unit regardless of its size (even baneblades and titans!!!!!!!)

if this building is comming then cool. But i am still more for the Bastions. Not that i'll manage to paint any when i get them!

they don't take much painting it took about 20 - 30 Min's after undercoat had dried for our shop to do one they have as they are not overly detailed (supposed to be huge AR 14 bunkers) the art work i think was an idea before the bastion design was finalised .
based on the game we played bastions are good but any bunker will do (i forgot to fire the 4 wall mounted HB 's all game) the game is more about rule tweeks than a whole new set of stuff to buy (except the rule book)

So just as a question that popped into my head. What do you lot think this will do for 40k? is it going to hinder the games or is it more fun than standard 40k missions?
In the long run can we look forward to Planet Strike tournaments??

you wont see it in tourneys (you don't see cityfight ones)
but it makes the game a lot more challenging for both sides more tactical thinking and maneuvering is needed (fire lanes/shadows.. lines of march..etc) its not just ...write a power list smash the opponent to bits in turn 1..type of game
i liked it and i cant wait to try planetstrike+cityfight+appoc game.....man that's going to be brutal!!!!!

Its a WIN-WIN situation then

planetstrike will only do good for 40k, i played a half planetstrike half 40k game the other day, and if that was anything to go by, i think i may stop playing 40k for fun and play planetstrike
