are you going to use the towers as bastions?

one of the things I didn't like about planetstrike was they didn't have much choices and everything was imperial. So basically you have either bastions or giant fortresses, nothing in between.

They don't give you lots of rules/details on stuff other then those two classes of fortresses, but remember that the defender can declare anything as an objective: A bridge, non-fortification buildings, a section of trench line, a missile silo, etc. ,etc. OF course they point out that anything you put a gun on SHOULD be an objective. Orky versions of the Imperial weaponry equate pretty easily (big shoota type guns for heavy bolters, and crazy Loota cannons or zapp cannons etc. for the Icarus laser, etc., so not to hard of a stretch of the imagination; armies like Tyranids, etc. are a bigger jump and i expect we might see some future WD content on defenses and automated weaponry for other races)

The gun towers are automated guns like the Icarus and so forth, and I built them modular so I can put them on buildings etc. or work them into a defense line, etc.

When I put the mekshop on the fortified hill platform with the gun towers added like in the pic I will count the whole building as a Bastion as it can be assumed the Big Mek has fortified the structure.

Beyond that I am planning to loot/orkify an Imperial Bastion and build two "stompa tower" Bastions made from stompa hulls with platforms/parapets on top and w/ Interceptor turrets made from BW turrets.

That should suffice for the time being...

Finished up the last gantry and automated gun I wanted to do for now this morning. Here is how it looks all put together and base coated:

The main fort breaks down into nine separate terrain components/pieces but looks pretty solid when combined me thinks. Now just need to start painting it up...

Looks cool

Planet Strike should be fun with all that orky terrain.

It's great! are you going to mount it on a battle board? or keep all the pieces separate? I can see the advantages either way

The whole set is fully modular and breaks down into numerous pieces that all can be used stand alone or combined in a variety of ways. I prefer this to mounting stuff on boards permenantly as it is far more useful this way.

Well what you see here is what I need for the battle report we are going to play so I am going to focus on painting what you see here and and what I need to paint in my army to get ready for that right now.

Eventually I plan to build some more orky buildings both intact and ruined so that I can also use this suff for COD games in an orky/orkified city.

I agree. I'd much rather attack, however I'm not sure who likes to defend less: orks or Flesh tearers?

My opponent for this upcoming game really likes to attack with his Flesh tearers. He also owns tons of drop pods so it will make for a very cinematic battle me thinks...

This looks really wonderful. I know you're busy, but any chance of a step-by-step on the main building? I'd love to get some tips on how to make terrain similar to this.
