Ok, besides the cute fluffy answers, I don't care who you are, but those bowmen with formal training WILL best you.
Archery is more than just a fantasy element. It's a sport nowadays, with many talented and professional bowmen who I can easily assure you can out shoot you.
Besides, when the hell did Chaos approve of bows?

Well, the only fast cav that shoot relatively well are Pistoliers and Outriders.

Well thats Kings. As it stands now, fast cav is amazing. They can march shoot and get a free reform in the same turn!

I would say they were pretty even. if you compare the fluff you would see what I mean
in fantasy where everyone is wielding Blackpowder weapons or Bows and arrows which are easily affected by wind and the ofg of war from black powder it is harder to hit your target and as magic missiles hit automatically you can't say magic is used aswell.
in 40k where they're using more modern weapons 3 factors come into play.
1. the fight is considered up close in most games and stories so your opponent isn't that far that you can't see them
2. Most weapons in 40k are rapid fire so there is more bullets and laser fire flying around that missing is a hard thing to do
3. this is the future where even the basic lasgun has a built in sight

The only thing I dislike in WHFB shooting is that Bows cannot fire in two ranks,
It is just as well they didn't play by these rules at Agincourt 
The problem seems to an inexperienced player such as myself that you end up stringing out the archers.
This has two effects. Firstly, making mobilty of nearby units more of a problem.
Secondly, it lessens the volley's impact, as for example the flanks are unable to be effective as they become out of range of the target.
hope that makes sense and apologies if i have misunderstood the rules
