Super Smash Bros for N64 takes top for me, and then I guess Quake II for PC, which I've been playing for how many years now?

Lots of other wonderful arcade side-scrollers out there (and now on my emulator) too: AvP, Metal Slug series, etc.

And I'll admit it, Rock Band II is a whole lot of fun, particularly with full band going, and the character management stuff is great.

Hrm...of all time? Well, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say both games of the Left 4 Dead series, although 2 is sucking up more of my time than the first ever did. It just seems to be a game that, no matter what my current mood is, I'm willing to go ahead and play an hour or two.

I'd also like to +1 the original Dawn of War series. Much as I like the new one, I really did like the old Risk-style gameplay of Dark Crusade and Soulstorm. I've had both games for a long time, and I still haven't gone through the game as every faction. (Imperial Guard stronghold on SS is kind of daunting, to say the least...)

Oh, and another +1 to Kingdom Hearts. I feel the series is not improving greatly - while II was a great leap over the original, Chain of Memories had a terrible combat system and 358/2 Days got way too repetitive way too fast. But to be fair, the stories are some of the best you'll ever see, and it's very clear that the games were made by Square-Enix. (I'm still peeved over Port Royal from II, though. Damn, that world was awkward...)

Mine has to be either:

Ratchet and Clank 3: Up your Arsenal
Purely for the awesome single player campaign

Star Wars Battlefront 2
For the hours of fun that can be had on multiplayer,

X-Com, Civilization II, Wing Commander III, Planescape: Torment, Baldurs Gate II.

I'd narrow it down more, but these games are just too good.

Dragon Force for Sega Saturn. Or any of the Shining Force games up to Neo and EXA (which were terribad)

Beyond that Star Wars Rebellion, TIE Fighter, X-Com 1, 2 & 3 and MechCommander.

I'm still furious that Opposing Force hasn't gotten a sequel.

For me World of Warcraft, I spent more time on that game than I care to admit. A very close second would have to be Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Shepherd is a creation of Gearbox or the such from what I keep hearing.

It's a close run between the Total War Games, The Sims 2, and Company of Heroes.

I'd have to say Rome: Total War wins out though. Just because the campaigns are so damned long

The guys at Valve have talked about that. They've said that a Shepherd story is something they could look at doing in the future, as they get a lot of calls for it.

But in the meantime, I'd be happy to take Half-Life 2: Episode 3... that game's been a long time coming.

Y'know, I feel kinda bad.

I cannot stand Half-Life 2. I don't know why. It and the Episodes are just...not interesting to me.

Now, Team Fortress 2 on the other hand...

HL2EP3 is a myth by now and soon, vaporware, just like Alan Wake.

TF2 is most interesting, not just in its support, but also the stuff surrounding it.
