what about orbital bombardment, or plasma?

IIRC the orbital bombardment is an Ordnance 1? So i woudl say top armour. Plasma cannons are fired directly, at ground level, so i woudl say they woudl hit the facing armour.



Example: fire an ordance weapons (demo cannon, bombardment etc) at a tank. Teh scatter lands smack in the middle of the model, therefore the shot has lobbed up and hit the top armour. If the shot scatter to 1 side the the shell hits the ground next to the tank and therefore the blast (which woudl be 1/2 strength as the dotr is not on the tank) is resolved against the side armour.

The main problem with this rule is that the area which counts as top armour is greatly questionnable. For example, where does a Marine have to shoot a Rhino for it to count as top armour? Just above the tracks, above the vision slot, or just when they're looking straight down on the top. This would be even harder with Eldar vehicles

Agreed. It makes it more overly complex that what it has to be.

Adding rules/restrictions just for the sake of adding rules/restrictions is utter nonsense.

Cityfight had this. It's the same as side armor IIRC.

how about: all blast weapons hit against side armour, showing the weaker top armour.

But as stated before, many blast weapons are direct fire, so it doesn't make sense to hit the "top" armor.

I think only barrage weapons or ordnance because they shoot at an angle. my 2 cents

No. Its a OPEN rules discussion asking for opinions and we give him ours. Which seems to be the general opinion from several other players:

* Stop Spamming
* Play test your rules before you post
* Slow down and think them through for better quality

We are not saying he cant post, we are just asking that he thinks a little harder about what he posts.

Ya i would be more ok with solons post if he tested them, and put in something of use...
