On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Shame you are not entering the comp mate as you have done some great stuff!

I love the colour combination on the ghulam, not too loud colours and I think they work perfectly with the model style.

More work on my Ghulam doctor, and starting on my Ghulam with panzerfaust. I want to get all of my Ghulam done before I move onto my Hassassin.

I actually had a really fun idea for my Hassassin that I'm going to try. Rather than the standard colours, I wanted them to look like special forces. The kind of special forces you just don't mess with. With that in mind, I had one thought.

They are shaping up really nicely and your hassassins are going to be awesome for sure! Keep it coming, dude.

Well this is amusing. While looking for an old Space Marine to try paintng, I found my whole lot of old 3rd edition Salamanders and Daemon Hunter allies. So here's some of the stuff I painted about 8 years ago.

My Salamanders chaplain. I was actually really proud of this guy. Yes, I know he's a Death Company chaplain. Basically, I had about 500pts of Salamanders but needed a HQ. I went into a store event at GW and they were giving out old 2nd edition blister packs for anyone who participated. I fished out an Eldar support platform. The staff must have seen how crestfallen I was, and they let me grab a second model. I grabbed this guy. Thus was born my Salamanders chaplain. I snipped off the blood drop and for some reason tried to paint it like rock. I don't remember why.

Next up is my Inquisitor. I loved this model. The right amount of badass while still looking like a 'good guy'.

Finally my Callidus. This single handedly stopped my friend using his Ethereals in his Tau (which annoyed him as he had two). One game, she appeared, ran through his Ethereal, and his entire army ran off the board.

Those Nids look great! I do my Nids as Behemoth myself. They were my first army and look aweful. But I won a new Mawloc yesterday.so I am going to improve!

This is annoying. I had a friend who I hadn't played in years ask me for a game of 40k. He wants to play regularly now. So I set about working on my Nids again. Now my brother has suddenly bought a bunch of Yu Jing and wants to play Infinity. SO I hasically have to work on both.

Here's something I was working on tonight. I wanted to make some more progress on the Heirophant.

I'll say this. See those little grey spikes? There's about 50 that need to be attached to various parts of the body. Even putting them in the right place, some of the slots are too small for the spike that's meant to go there. Some of them are in positions so awkward I don't know how they even sculpted it. Some of them are so small, they're about 1mmx0.5mm. I've lost two of these and can't be fething bothered finding them.

I'll get this thing finished. I'm not sure if I'll be happy with the final result though. If I had the opportunity, I'd walk right up to Simon Egan and punch him in the face for making such a poorly designed kit. I mean, it's a gorgeous model, but design wise, I don't know why they didn't just leave most of these spikes off.

Can't wait to see that done man! It's a great looking model, any ideas for basing it?

So some painted stuff. My Ghulam doctor is finished. Next, another Gargoyle and a Ghulam panzerfaust.

I'm not overly happy with the skin. Turns out dark skin is quite hard to paint. I'm relatively happy with the white - it's the first time I ever painted white, and got it nice and bright amd not chalky.

Some more Infinity.

Another Ghulam, this one with a panzerfaust. I was surprised that I actually knocked this one out in a weekend. Everything just worked how I wanted it.

And a group shot of my 4 finished Ghulam (washed out by the stupid sun).

Mext on the chopping block, a Nasmat remote.

So, an update after 2 months. My lifes been pretty up and down, so my painting has been on and off. But I have made progress on my Haqqislam and Tyranids.

First up, my Nasmat. This thing gave me painters block. I had it done for a month trying to think of a third colour to break up the tan and green, before I remembered it was a medical robot, so hey, white.

Then my Hassassins Muyib with Spitfire. This is a WIP, obviously. My splinter cell scheme didn't work, and blocked all the lovely detail on these figs. So I'm going with the same scheme of my Ghulam to unify the force, but with grey shoulder pads and helmet to distinguish her as a Hassassin.

Lastly, my Carnifex finally is complete with arms. I'll do Devourer arms for it when I finish the rest of my Tyranids and order some. Right now, he's enjoying being a meleefex in 6th.

I wonder what rules you could use for that thing in Infinity! It would certainly have a PHY of 25!

Looking at the finished Carnifex justifies its use to me. It's still the most downright hideously menacing looking Tyranid unit.

Can't wait to get another 2 to send into my friends lines alongside it.

The 'phant gets gradual progress. I've still got to attach about 30 2mm-3mm long spikes, which is dragging enthusiasm down.

Must have that Carnifex! But I can't fit it into a list under 2k with a HVC!

Updates! Yeah, it's been a while I've been a bit sidetracked with something else. However, after burning myself out on it recently, I've been getting back into painting.

First up, my Hassassin. Not much work - I finished up the legs, and started layering the armour. I've decided to keep the helmet and shoulder pads green rather than greay. Looks a bit more cohesive.

Next up, I actually finished another model. Hive Guard number 2 is done.

My second Carnifex is started.

And also something I bought for my Tyranids. Maxminis not-Mycetic Spore.

I know Kroothawk keeps harping on that it's too small, it's really not. This is without its scenic base.

I probably won't get a whole lot painted until after Christmas, for the simple fact that we're going through some severe heat waves, which makes painting hard. When your paint dries on your brush due to 40 degree heat (celcius), it makes it a tad hard.

Also, small story about that mycetic spore. Maxmini thought it would be a fantastic idea to ship it from Europe to Australia, surface mail, in a ziplock baggy. My FLGS ordered 2 for themselves when I ordered that, and when they arrives, they were... in bad shape. That is the best one, with only the tips of the spikes knocked off. One had entire chunks of the model smashed off, and none of the bases made it intact.

It's a great model, but I can't in good consience order from Maxmini ever again until they decide to ship stuff here in sensible packaging. At least my LFGS gave me about 50% off.

I finally got around to another update! Infinity this time.

Hassassin Muyib with Spitfire done.

And all my Haqqislam stuff so far, and the next on the chopping block.

Excellent stuff mate, really like the colour scheme for these guys and you obviously have a steady hand! Looks like a really neat job. One thing I will say though is that they might benefit from some better photos, have you got a macro function with your camera?

And now you just need to make some kind of scenario and rules up that have your Haqqislam trying to stave off an alien invasion (using miniatures of course that look a lot like Tyranids! )

I've tried macro mode. It just showed all of the little mistakes :(

I'm a bit stuck on the Al Hawwa. I was considering something different to show her as a more solitary, lone operative. Something to break the uniform military look, like denim pants and a different colour for the shirt, but still green body armour. However, previous attempts at something different spectacularly failed.

Also, my haqqislam aren't quite finished. I'm waiting for a nice day to give them a squirt if dullcote and some desert grass tufts on their bases.

Alright. Al Hawwa WIP. This is why I don't take macro mode pics. I'll fill in the colours before I apply the purple wash to the hair and finish it off.

Also, my McVey Studios order came in! I Got Morgana with the intention of using her as a Lahmian vampire queen. She's got the Egyptian look. However, a small niggle came up, which is regarding the scale. The's the same hight as the old GW Lahmians, but obviously far, far better proportioned. And it's... off putting. Compared to the new plastic Necromancer, she looks like a child!

Also, macro mode close up (though a tad blurry) of some of the detail. GW, pay attention.

Funny I thought the opposite. The old Necro looks like a tall Dwarf next to her.

The new plastic Necromancer is taller, wider, and overall bigger.

I've decided to just ignore the proportion differences, and maybe just mount her on a taller base so it's not so obvious. I absolutely dore the sculpt, and painting it is going to be a nightmare, however.

Some more WIP shots of my Al Hawwa. Not too pleased with the mask, but I'm at the point of 'feth it' because it's just too fething small for me to paint properly.

Also a motivational shot for myself, because I'd never gotten all of my Infinity figs out before. There's also the start of my Combined Army list in there. Also two test colour models that need a spin in the ultrasonic cleaner.

The price point did this to me. It's very easy to accumulate a lot of models when every two to three weeks when I visit my FLGS, I can drop $25au and get 2-3 figs, or $40au and get a fireteam box.

GW really needs to take notice. Impulse buys work when the purchase amount is within impluse buy levels.

So I've been fiddling with my Hawwa sniper. I'm fairly pleased with it, but I know where I could have done better - but I just want to move on to the Muyib next to her. Right now, I'm trying to decide - wood rifle furniture like my rifle Ghulam, or black like my spitfire Muyib? I'm leaning to wood, since I wanted black only for more specialised weapons, like viral weapons, spitfires, HMGs and such. And the sniper rifle is, well, a rifle with a scope and a suppressor. Suggestions?
