well i really think you should repaint your current mini in the same fashion as your daemonettes...that would really be cool looking then!

the scythed lady looks very good too!

She's soaking in some pine-o-clean as we speak.
Though that sword is a separate piece so I might swap out the hand while I'm at it to make it fit in a little more.

Thanks.

Her paint's now gone as all went to plan so I should get the KoS up sometime. My brother did say it looked a little small though... Which to me just means make a fanicer base to counter.

that is always a good idea!

Oh should probably add in case any are curious, I use this to strip.

By the looks of the base it leaves greenstuff alone which was a nice surprise when I took it out and brushed the paint off with a toothbrush.

i really wonder what is the ingredient of all these stripper agents ....cause i have my own cleaner here in germany as it is not available easily...but my cleaner works also...for how long did you let your mini soak?

I left it over night and for most of today though after about an hour or so the paint started to show signs of lifting. Of course then I went to sleep and was out all day.

Never really tested how fast, just how long stuff can stay in it before it degrades. I think it was something like 4-5 days before plastic started to dissolve in the concentrated stuff. That marine's going to make a decent statue objective marker one day.

Also removed the pva glue holding on the sand and really weakened the super glue bond.

that sounds quite aggressive... plastic never got harmed by my stuff... hmmm...tho the GS came off or better was all soft after a week or so... i have currently a jar full of forgotten things in it... some old khorne beserkers^^ and i think i should have a look...for educational reasons^^

and getting rid of PVA and sand...that is quite good! after all you wanted to kae a new, higher base

Well that's for the herald at least, got the base put aside in case of anything else as it's different to the 40k ones. KoS might be tricky, could do some sort of rock thing with a base insert I have (though it's for a smaller base), but tie it in with sand and stuff to fix the edges.

Real fun though will be transporting the KoS as the sword is pretty thin but looks cool enough to still use.

Sort of confusing talking about two conversions at once.

Feel like throwing up a WIP image for a change.

well for stones i heard bark is a good way to do that... also a nice conversion the arm looks very good...tho one might be puzzled how the maiden got into her coat^^

Surprisingly the arms managed to fit on it better than I expected with only a little cutting and filing needed.

First up the comparison shot.

Though the base still needs to be finished and I may bend it around a little as I'm not 100% on the current pose.

holy...where did that model came from all of a sudden??? looks very cool...the arms attached give her even more of a daemonic feel... reminds me if the song...:

Thanks, wasn't sure it'd work out until I put them in.

Now I need to think if I'll add to the armour with GS to bring it even more in line with the Daemonette armour, or leave it and compensate by maybe painting runes on it. Either way being one of the few MC sized models I've painted I sort of want to make it look better and not so plain like the other MCs I've done.

The Kos is just perfect! I'll have to steal that at some point i'm afraid.

I am now accepting commissions for any hobby project! I've been in the hobby since '92. Specializing in traditional brush methods, creating a gritty dark aesthetic. From single character models to entire armies. From individual terrain pieces to entire table tops. From tabletop level to masterclass level painting. From purchasing and assembly to leveling up your assembled armies paint job. If it has to do with the hobby I can do it! Hit me up and let's chat about your project!

i duno... what kind of armor do you have in mind? got any ics for referrence? this might help... but currently i am thinking this MC benefits from the ancient kind of armor that is called bewbarmor.... which is perfectly fitting for daemonettes...at least in my opinion...

Well I'll put up the pic from the previous page here to make it a little easier.

Was thinking of building out the base of the "armour" it already has with perhaps something similar to the waist area of this one.

Mostly the swirl pattern they all seem to have, although the other idea was more of less painting the pattern onto the cloak or skin (but as sort of glowing runes, though would have to find where the Daemon alphabet is not sure if it's the 40k or WHFB book). I'll try to mark it out in paint or something then post the result.

Edit: There we go. Had to not use the autoadjust gallery function for this as while it helped see the model before, it made it hard to see what I marked out as I included the OSL plans (besides the sword as it'd be too messy ).

The existing armour would probably be easier to paint the pattern on than file down and sculpt over.

hmmm... if you are able to remake the armor like in your lower pic ...then i say try it! but by all means keep the belly button free! ^^on second thought... it would be a really shame to cover up her waist...but maybe thats just me...^^

Don't worry I'll be keeping the sculpting to a minimum to try to avoid butchering it.

good thought!

Wasn't able to sculpt the pattern in like I had intended as there are straps where the GS is, which happen to cross over exactly where the symbols were going.

Few bits fell off it it during the work which was annoying, but made me realise it may be better to go with these larger horns from a pink horror. The ones it had were sort of thin almost antennae like, as I don't want to mess around with the GS work these are only blu-taced on while it sets. When done I'll probably pin them in place, maybe work on the angles and depending on how it lines up with the points for the other horns I may have to come back to it with GS and fix it up. I know the wrists will need gap filling anyway, arms are probably lined up as good as they can be.

ok... i am unable to really comment on the GS work... the pic is not really helping to view it acordingly...

also... if i might speak my mind here freely... i liked the former horns better...personal taste possibly...

I sort of liked them too, but they felt a little small and flimsy. Added with them constantly falling off it was clear they'd work if it were more of a display piece. Will definitely use them with something else if I can. Maybe her sister as I haven't repainted it yet or really worked on it since that picture a little while back.

I ended up attaching the horns at a different angle to the way I had them blu-taced, gave them more support this way and they feel more imposing. Then after filling in the gaps around I had some GS left over, rather than wasting it I decided to use to to add some trinkets and such to the model; is a KoS after all.

maybe it was the earlier pose of those new hrons...as now they look way better... also i like where you are going with the trinkets idea...definatly a good idea and nice execution

Though I'm being cautious with adding them as I think it'd quickly become too cluttered. I'm sort of happy with the way it is, though maybe it could use some more. Tricky part might be adding some gems, but I feel like it after not painting any for a while now.
I'll have a look around in my bits as I think I may have some put away.

Once that's all done, I'll shape the horns on the sword out to the way the should be and get started on the painting. As for the sword colour I have a few ideas floating around. Making it gold (would work on more levels considering how soft it is ), making it silver, one of the two with glowing runes painted on or a better version of these that I've done before.

Possibly a glowing blue like I intend for the eyes as going with a glowing pink or purple might look too plain to the rest of the model. Though green might also work.

hmmm... for the sword... i´d suggest going all black...very menacing...and then add that glowy effect you did with the hair of your daemonettes... pink runes...i think that would look rather cool!
