as an Ork palyer, I hate mephiston, lootas have trouble going trough is 2+ save, specially when there is a priest not far. Pks go trough his armor, but 4+ means half of my strikes misses..., Warboss gets IDed b4 he gets a chance to swing. Ghazzy doesnt work without a transport...

The important part is to remember that he is 250 points, so you can you must at least throw that amount of points at him to win.

Yeah, but he doesn't have eternal warrior or an invulnerable save, and the Swarmlord's attacks cause instant death. Plus the Tyrant Guards make him I1 so the Swarmlord can avoid being Force Weapon'ed to death first.

As for the Deathleaper + Doom combo, Deathleaper lowers his Leadership by 1-3 and then the Doom uses Spirit Leech on him. If he rolls high enough on 3D6 (and on average, he should roll ~12), then he could be killed instantly.

Seriously? GK vs. Mephiston (and most things, really) is an "Easy Button". Point and click.

Assault him with Psyk-grenades, Hammerhand from adjoined character and force weapon his ass. One shot kill.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

My Orks used to have trouble with him, but any time I even think I will see him in a game I run Zogwart. Mephiston can cancel his power, but it still makes the BA player a little wary about getting too close to Zog. If Zogwart doesn't squiq him, I use Nobz and a Warboss on Bikes to finish him off. So far it has worked fairly effectively, although I end up sending a healthy amount of points at him to ensure that he dies.

zog can't squig him, meph isnt an IC. I checked that last time I palyed my BA friend, I wanted to try the zog curse but couldnt...

DE dont have much trouble. He will fail enough 2+ saves from posioned weapons or if he is out of cover you canblaster him to death.

you can try and take him out with an archon with a huskblade. FC and combat drugs help a lot! Mephy is will probably get to reroll to hit and wound then there is the 2++.

Hmmm... I do not own a BA codex and have only had cursory glances through it. I will have to make a note of that. There is a regular BA player at my shop, and a couple of randos I have played against and this is the first I have ever heard of it. I just made the assumption that since he was an IC in previous versions, he was still an IC.

There's a fair few UBER SC's that aren't IC's.

Mephy is one of them, more's the pity.

On the upside it means that he can't take a 2+3++ terminator unit with FNP as ablative wounds

Just be careful of the hood Overload with power weapons has worked better for me than just about anything else (4's to hit, 6's to wound... 6 wounds... can take a bit of wacking to down him in one go unless like previously mentioned alot of hammers)

Also just for fun, I've put 5 wounds on meph in one round with the storm raven before. 3 mind strike missle hits (lucky scatter), a las cannon + multi-melta, almost finished him XD. If I didn't roll arrow + 6 inches it might have been better (it was a double 5 )
