Managed to finish my StormTalon this weekend

Had a slight accident involving plastic glue whilst sticking it on :angry: which was only just usable so had to paint it to hide the damaged

I dont like it but it was either paint it or leave it looking gak so i expect flaming :( !

Not bad, and canopy means you don't need to paint the cockpit

No its quite easy as the glass is recessed compared to the frame

Currently working my way through the 10 man tactical terminator squad and made a start on my "counts as" Lysander using FW Tyberos the red wake & some other bits.

Will post some WIP pics tomorrow

Heres my "Counts As" Lysander primed and ready to paint (sorry about poor pic quality, bad lighting)

Based it on the SS marine on the cover of "The Gildar Rift", minus lightening claws obviously.

Having my own yberos the red wake still in the packaging, I say that is a blasphemous use of a nice model. But on the other hand it is quite cool so

The only thing I would say is the Thunderhammer arm looks a little...strange. And the head is slightly wonky but still.

Cheers well i got tyberos cheap from a mate so thought id put him to good use!

Ref the pose - the heads mean't to be wonky like hes covering his eyes from incoming fire & the arms looks better in person (camer angle makes it looks strange...i think lol!)

Fantastic army sir. Keep up the great work. The simple color palette looks really great executed so well.

I like the canopy painted too, I did the same on my Stormravens. Maybe just jazz it up a bit with some reflection colors, then you will like it more. :-)

Love to see a Skulls army, and you have really rocked this one. Well done!

Well daismith you know I how I feel about your great Skulls. But the Stormtalon is new...

I will be honest and say I cant stand the model itself, HOWEVER I really like the paintjob! I really like the level of weathering and detail you did. And the 'tinted' canopy looks good and I think actually compliments the S.S. scheme very well.

Yeah luckily I got all the bits cheap otherwise it would have been very expensive lol!

That's right think its from the chaos terminator lord but it's definitely chaos

Been thinking and I might invest in a 10 man scout squad to use with my storm talon but wil wait to see what the 6th ed brings.

Next on my list to paint

10 tactical terminators, x1 standard sgt & x3 space marine casualities to use as objective markers

I really like the way he looks (missed the auto append). The lightning effect on the hammer is great! And he looks nothing like Tyberos, so you could totally do one of those down the road too, if you wanted.

Sorry for the lack of updates been busy with other side projects -_-

I have managed to make a start on the Space Marine casualites i bought from GW and this is a friendly warning to anyone who wishes to buy these DONT!

Never had the joy of working with GW finecast before & i now know why its called Finecrap. The castings are shocking, bubbles everywhere, surfaces arent smooth and details are that miscast ive had to cut bits off and replace them.

Ive informed GW and think ill stick to FW resin & plastic conversions in the future

Personally I think they look great.

As a matter of opinion, on something.like these the pocknarks in the resin, as long as there wasn't too many, would look ok, to look like battledamage...

Maybe some of those pockmarks WERE suppossed to be there as battledamage.

No there was definitely air bubbles and miscasts all over the minis that had to either be filled or rescuplted using green stuff.
