This range is basically flat plasticard walls of one standard size with almost no details on the walls. Only three variants: Solid, window, door, that's why all "buildings" have open doors on first floor leading nowhere. If you call stacks of cubes a building that is.

In my opinion the Plast Craft terrain looks great. It has a very nice clean sci fi vibe. It could easily be roughed up and given wires to make it more grungy if that is what you want.

It is also very practical for play, as the roofs are removable, so you can access the interior of the buildings. The doors and windows can also open and close, which is a nice touch. There are ladders to allow access to different levels, as well as small ramps.

Wow, really beautiful.

However being made of PVC, i'd be very very concerned about whether they give off VOC's or not (volatile organic compounds), which some PVC does.

While short term effects can have no effect at all, or just eye, nose, throat irritation (very minor), long term exposure to VOC's is carcinogenic, and comes with a whole host of health issues. Humid and / or hot conditions can release the VOC's into the atmosphere which are then absorbed through the skin, nose, throat, and lungs. I live in New England where it's hot as balls May to September - sometimes October - and humid March to September.

So, unless they had some way of proving to me that the PVC they are using doesn't contain these, yeah, no thanks. The stuff is more toxic than resin particulate or MDF particulate. In Mass, where i live, the PVC used in piping and venting applications, etc., has to be below a certain threshold of VOC's under normal atmospheric conditions within a range of heat and humidity.

Sure the exposure levels in some terrain won't be high enough to do the worst VOC damage that can occur (high expsoure over long amount of time can cause kidney and other organ damage, and cancer [like everything else out there]), but even low level - as small as this terrain - in small exposure can cause chemical sensitivity and contribute to chemical allergy development to the PVC and VOC itself.

It's nasty gak if it's not the kind that gives low or no VOC. Caveat Emptor.

That all said, it is absolutely gorgeous looking terrain. If they could prove it was no/low VOC PVC, i'd buy some of this up in a friggin heartbeat to use for a Tau themed terrain table.

Edits = General sense making.

Soon we will announce a bunch of new products. Here you have a sneak peek about what's coming on. These past months we have been working hard for rise up the detail level of our terrain kits.
We have achieved a new technique that allow us to engrave detailed textures to the surface of our models.
Here you have the kind of texture work that we will apply to our designs from now on.
Watching the picture, can you guess which line of our products will be expanded on April?

Please bear in mind that I'm not in any way, shape, or form associated with Plastcraft Games. I just 'run' the thread because I like the terrain and think it needs to be kept up to date!

With that said another announcement was made today:
Some of you where right thinking that the next set of scenery elements would be for Haqqislam. This is the logo for the new scenery line designed for Infinity: Bourak Terrain.
Everything is almost ready to be released an soon we will post the final model pictures.

I like that scenery, a lot. The colors are great too, very complimentary. Can't wait to see the rest of it.

The price of the buildings designed by Plastcraft Games varies from 5€ to 45€ (45 is a huge Pagoda for Kensei, normal buildings are from 10 to 25€).

Now that looks much better.
Although it again seems like almost all details are just painted on and so not exactly part of the kit. Difficult to tell from the pics.

So much nicer than MDF, but would like to see non-painted to see how detailed they actually are. (I agree with Kroot, think paint job is adding detail).

earlier in the thread. I'd say most of it is sculpt, not just paintjob.

I do like the look of the Pagoda.

But since I can't paint as well as their studio, I imagine mine wouldn't look quite as nice.

Oh God.. and I collect forces of both Haqqislam and Yu Jing!

I am genuinely excited though about what kind of sci-fi slant they can add to oriental architecture.

If they wanted to get money out of Alpharius, they'd just need to slap a "Jotum depot" plaque on any of their design and he'd be ordering by the caseload.

Please!

That would be an all time worldwide best seller!

And by that I mean RIGHT NOW!

Never mind once "OPERATION ICESTORM" is released!

I like them, I just wish they had stairs.

The Bandua scenery is my favorite in terms of function. If Plast Craft did someone similar to Bandua's Q buildings, then I'd be all over it.

Plast Craft's price is right. I've had my eye on their stuff for awhile.

Playing: Droids (Legion), Starks (ASOIAF), BB2

I picked up some of the PlastCraft stuff done for a different line that looks more "holy futuristic" inspired (would work well for the PanO Templar stuff) and after working with MDF, plywood, and plastic terrain... I'm in love with it.

1) It's very fast/easy to assemble because it shaves with a hobby knife literally like paper, and using superglue, you have to hold a join together for about 4 seconds and it's NOT coming apart again.

2) Lightweight, but extremely sturdy. The way the terrain is designed with curves gives it a lot of reinforced strength, so it easily holds in the range of 500% it's own weight without warping in games I've used it in. It makes it easy to put in a tub and take with you to the game club, too, because it's so lightweight. AND, to top it all off, it doesn't break if you drop it.

3) Takes paint like a dream. Where MDF and plywood will soak up paint, this stuff is bright on the first pass.

Honestly, if I weren't already so invested in terrain, I'd replace everything I have with PlastCraft stuff aside from the single molded solid plastic pieces from GW (trench lines, etc.). I foresee myself buying ALL of it.

Is that the only thing they've released since June/July and the Haqqislam themed buildings?
