What does everyone end up using for terrain?

I use print and play stuff. Put in cardstock into the printer, crank out the cardstock buildings, the streets, and go for it.

There is a good batch of it over at Drivethru, as well as that, there is a few resin companies that make some good buidings/ cities stuff.

These guys ring a bell for me.

There is a good bunch of it over at thier website, as well.

http://forum.pulp-city.com/

The fan-made material is there for you to create your own cards for your OWN superheros, as well.

They have a really good game system that reminds me of COH on the table.

Cheapest is the cardstock stuff. Print it off in your printer, put it up on the table with a couple of things, and there you go.

And- the figures interact with the terraign.

Couple of dinosaurs, put in a giant robot, add in a bus load of civilians getting ready to get thrown off a cliff.....

I've got a bunch of reporters that I throw in there every once in awhile for a laugh to kill.

Ninjas, undead hordes, ape minions, robots, street punks, etc....whatever you want to put in there works.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Leftover fantasy papercraft terrain for me!

It gets the job done, and we can just pretend it's some old European city that's getting demolished.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Don't forget your already existing terrain. Its not like all superhero action occurs in the city. Just make sure there are things to hide behind, things to climb on, and things to throw around.

Worldworks Terraclips stuff is defiinitely pretty nice.

Front page updated with current Supreme Pledge totals. Next free models unlock at $52k; almost assuredly dinosaur gangster minions.

I'm glad to see this kickstarter. None of the models are up my alley, but I hope it does well. It'd be nice to have for minis for Hero System.

Try out some of Tommy Gun's stuff. I've build enough to fill a 4x4 board, and it all looks amazing. Also, you can't beat free.

Also note that, unless they've changed things, there's rules for creating your own henchmen using any suitable models you have lying around.

That's close to how its going to work.

There will be a few set "builds" for minions (lower level models that are very limited in actions). Pulp Monsters (the producers of Pulp City) encourage you to use your own models to represent those minions.

This is also true of the monster section in the book.

They are planning on releasing an additional set of rules in the future that will allow you to build your own Supremes, minions, and monsters.

Now that sounds VERY interesting - any more details on that, or maybe a rough timeline for it?

Well, its pretty clear they want to focus on this book and expanding the model sets to have fairly even factions (amongst those that are already established). So, that pretty much takes this year.

So, I'd guess a new rulebook next year? But, honestly, there's nothing set except the drive to do so. These guys have spent over 2 years getting ready for this Kickstarter and new book/ruleset, so they'll only do the next one when its ready.

Does anyone know if they are using the same printer as the previous rulebook? Many people including myself had the printed section fall out of the hard cover. This was with light use (weekly games 5 weeks in a row).

The previous iteration of rules was not a fit with my group and we noticed a slant towards team building that always favored bricks/powerhouses. I suppose I have a month to research the new rules to see if they get any of my money.

Heh, in anticipation of this KS I backed Mars Attacks JUST so I could get the urban accessories (telephone booths, fire hydrants, wrecked cars and so on) to spruce up my table of World Words Games stuff. Oh, and a giant robot. Because who doesn't want to have a bunch of supers battle a giant robot?

That was smart planning!

Now I'm wishing I had backed Mars Attacks for the same reason!

Those aliens and that terrain - it would all work great here!

@mecha:
Publisher is not yet decided. They did acknowledge the issues from the first book and are looking to improve oon it.

@slygess;
Those would work really well. Personally, I'm eyeing the T5 KS. Love the buildings, and might have to consider the roads too.

Models from the Kickstarter are already in the works. According to the people at Pulp Monsters, they have commissioned 10 models for sculpting this week. First of the Powerhouses to get the treatment is the Necroplane model Soul Golem:

This Kickstarter is awesome. I really love the concept of A.R.C. and the stretchgoal Baboom.

I think I'll love painting those beauties.

I have a gak load of velociraptors from Tamya,

http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/plastic-model-series-20/1-35-scale-dinosaur-diorama-15000/velociraptors-diorama-set-60105

Giant Robots

http://www.gundamkitscollection.com/2013/04/hguc-1144-gm-light-armor-customized.html

Dinosaurs, Cyclopse, and dragons from Schleich and Safari LTD, that fit the bill.

http://www.schleich-s.com/en/US/toys/prehistoric_animals/

http://safariltd.com/collection/collectionproductlist?collection_id=15&group_id=4

Then the zombie hordes. Punks, and Apemen..... Oh my.

Then the Reaper Superheros, animorph troops, giant bugs, etc. for The Island of Doctor Moreau, as well as the Apemen from Crooked Dice and the Chuhlu figures from Black cat bases and RAFM......

http://www.reapermini.com/

http://blackcatbases.com/

http://www.rafm.com/

As well as anything else you can think of, The game has rules to add anything you want into it.

ARC is one of the better crews to run with, as well. sick in that King Kong ape, and start crushing skulls...

The Giant monster rules are bad assed, and you can pretty much use anything you want in there, from giant rats, to dinosaurs, to robots, to Cthuhlu, to the giant bugs. There is one particular cat named Mysterious Man, who has a little buddy Xenobi that hangs out with him, and he can pull out dinosaurs for his troops.

Theres another guy by the name of Hellsmith who has Spartans as his troops.

and then there are the ninjas, sentrybots, and citizens......

Did I mention that I love this game?

Favorite easy cheesy run is to take a level 1 hero and go at it with a couple of gang bangers or mooks on the street. Easiest run you can do with the rules that you can get people playing and interested in. Then you build on it from there and add in teams and such.

Can anyone run through the changes here? Kickstarter pages are so poorly laid out, and often all the info is in a video that can't be watched at work.

@Vertrucio: anything in particular you are looking for?

So far, the KS has raised enough to print a new book (beta rules can be seen at their website http://pulp-city.com/downloads-2/), created a full new faction (Grimm) that is mostly included in the $90 pledge, funded the creation of a new Supreme type called powerhouses ($15 each add-ons from the KS, likely $25 retail, and sculpts for 2 are already on the FB), and finally been able to add new characters to the existing factions.

Sum up: lots of add-ons to the existing game.

After a few more unlocks, the goals are to introduce a LOT more characters/models for the underrepresented Factions; Forgotten (ancient supernatural beings), Gaia (angry nature spirits), Supreme Alliance (Avengers knock-offs), and Star Voyagers (intergalactic alliance).

New Update:
Currently 41 backers are in for the Collecter's Pledge, which is every Pulp City model produced (including 4 limited editions) plus every new unlocked mini. The model count as of now is 141 (making it $4.26 each) including the two massive models (those are 80mm bases).

Image blow is all models already produced for Pulp City; add on all the unlocked models from the KS to see the Collector's Pledge.

This is really awesome. I wish I could afford the collector pledge. Well, Powerhouse and some Add Ons is also a great start in this wonderful game.

"Double Supreme" seems like a really good deal - but do you know if they're letting you trade out some stuff that you wouldn't need 2x of, like the rule book and the Hero and Villain Starters, and maybe even some of the 'stretch goals' that I wouldn't really want 2 of?

Asked, and answered!

Unfortunately, the answer was "No swaps", which is understandable as they are a small outfit.

Yup with the trouble so many KS project creators have getting folks orders right swaps just create another huge layer of problems

@Alpharius:
No switches allowed sadly. The company is literally 4 guys on 2 different continents who put together this game outside of their normal jobs. Extremely dedicated guys, but the effort to customize all those orders would be prohibitive.

NEWS FOR THE DAY!!!
If you've been on the fence, get in the game!
Monday is the last day to get another free add-on model:

In addition, they have added a new pledge (You Asked for It!) that gives all the free unlocks with 1 starter and 1 value pack. That's $5 more than the Supreme for 2 additional models.

Last 12 hours to get in on the Valentine's additional freebie. Plus, the campaign is only about 12 backers from another freebie and $1500 from another freebie.

Come invest in a good game run by some great people.

Who are the Pulp City analogues, if there are any, for:

Iron Man (Iron Train?)
Spider-Man
Green Goblin
Mysterio
Dr. Doom
Superman
Thor (Perun?)
Batman

etc.?

Thanks!
