The art looks good, but I'd like to see some more 3D models and preferably at least a few casts.

We've just received a new render that is ready to send to print. We hope to have it ready before the start of the KS campaign.

Now we have a launch date !!

Friday May 16th, the 30-Days campaign will begin where, with your support, we hope to make “Last Saga” a reality.

Our target is to successfully get funding to complete the 3D models for the starter packs for the factions: The Council and Uruhvel; their consequent 3D prints, and the necessary copies to provide our backers with the miniatures composing our game.

We wish that our proposal is of your pleasure, thank you very much for your support and interest!

I've been looking forward to this since you showed off those Fusiliers. I'm just not sure I'm going to have the money to go all in on this one. Can you tell us what currency you'll be using on it?

I'm getting so tired of kickstarters with pretty drawings and no casts to show for it. Will there be casts of these BEFORE the KS goes live, or will this be another kickstarter that has pretty concepts but will miss the shipping dates because the timeline is soft. Sorry if its come across rude, but there's a lot of delayed ship KS right now and I've never seen your company/game info anywhere, so I'm hesitant to back anything without some track record.

@Theophoney - Your comment doesn't come across as rude just ignorant. The process of taking concept art from sketch to cast is expensive, and since kick starter funding is not a 100% guaranteed some people would say an unnecessary cost compared to hiring a graphic designer, organising shipping and other far more useful marketing tools.

PS - If delays and uncertainties are your biggest gripe I suggest maybe kick starter backing is not really for you....

"Unecessary" is not the word I would use for showing at least a test cast before / during a campaign. Wargaming blogs and forums then do your marketing for you by sharing the image everywhere.

Which is fine for companies like mercs and soda pop but if you don't have the spare 6 grand to produce a cast and that's if you find a manufacturer willing to do just one cast.

Anyway don't let me derail the topic, I love what I see gonna be a popular kickstarter .

$6 Grand? to cast it in what?

Metal casting = Around $300
Resin Casting = Around $40
Plastic Casting = Around $20k

Hi, thanks for your comments and thoughts!

The rulebook is almost finished, today we had a reunion with our translator, and now only the layout remains. Because of that, it is sure that will be available before the launch next Friday. Thank you very much for your patience.

About the currency used, as the project is UK based, it will be pounds. Our prices will be adjusted properly and with nice discounts in the Kickstarter project, having our products a competitive price.

We understand your points and we are aware of the problems this type of campaign has. With this in mind, we have planned accordingly: all our manufacture steps are Europe based, companies well known and with proved reputation. For examples, Griffin Moulds will be the one responsible for the casts.

For further information, stay tuned and do not hesitate in asking!

@kranki, its the cost of starting your own business. $6k is not that much to start a business, and most casts from 3d I have a hard time believing that's the cost to have one done. (See cyporiean's post above, kind of knowledgeable in that area ). While I've only backed 2ks, I've watched a lot more that I'm interested in, such as this, but I don't put down money on ones that there's nothing to show for it.

I believe there are only 3d prints, not casts, but I'd love to be wrong. Will be watching this regardless!

Impressed with the art work, wish the female models were in full combat armor like their male counter parts. Not white knighting nor offended. Understand why they do it.

The tails remind me of the "Avatar" movie , really like the concept work. I'll stay tuned for the KS, just want their to be more than the sketches I've seen here. I'll look at their Facebook later when not on the iPhone.

I thought the same thing, but didn't want to go there.

"hey wanna get freaky with out little reproductive cords"

Being a more organic based race, wonder if those little tails/cords are some way to keep living (eating, breathing or getting stronger) or adapt to alien environments.

I like the female aliens, but there seems to be a discrepancy between the male and female armor amount

My comment was from concept to cast is not cheap. Though I was not aware of any resin castng for $40 I assume these casts are lowish in quality, but if they are of reasonable quality please I would love more details as I am researching costs at this time...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I agree with the comments about the fact male to female comparisons seem a little off unless females in last saga are bullet proof?

This should probably be another thread, or PMs.

We do our own in-house casting for Resin figures, so I'm well aware of the costs, and I'd say the results are better than the last few GW Finecast and Mantic PVC products I've picked up.

Not nitpicking, just curious, but are resin casts really that cheap compared to metal or is a zero missing?

Cheaper per mold, but you burn through resin molds quicker.

I think that's in-house casting costs, but the molds for a few resin models are indeed cheaper than doing the same for metal models, since it will usually be a flexible silicone mold. I.e. the mold itself is cheaper for resin casting, but if you're not doing it in-house the cost per cast is usually higher. That doesn't really matter for a test cast, though.

I agree that if folks want to discuss it further a new thread (maybe in Dakka Discussions) would be best.

Hmm, I'm not really sold on the girls, but the dudes look cool. Plus, that confirms faceplates! Any chance we'll see the basic Guyver guys with full faceplates as well, or will only the heavy guys have their faces covered?

Can I make a request? Like the others have noted the females look kind of off, is it possible to cover them up? I am not saying remove the sexiness of the model (if that is what you are going for) but I really do not think the only way a female miniature can look good is if it is essentially naked. I think if you covered them up in a unique manor with the bio-armor not only would it keep them looking good but the style would probably attract a lot more people. Sort of an example of covered up female is like a Hassassin Fiday from Infinity. She is totally covered up from head to toe including her face but still retains her "good-looking" nature. I may just be rambling but I think that is a better more realistic path that would fit better into the eventually fluff than using the simple "well they are basically naked because that is just how their species does it" which a lot of places use.

The Uruhvel starter pack includes one Aegeon and one Undaunted in their male version (Aegeon left Undaunted right photo). But they can be seen their female versions (with similar design of armor) if we unlock the corresponding goals.

Although some girls models wear little armor it will also be heavily armored female units.

Molds masters are made from 3D prints. In the picture below you can see the print quality of the machine we use. And we put all our effort to the 3D model represents faithfully the concept of art, as it can be seen in the renders shown so far.
The objective of our campaign is not presale starter packs, but to finance production. That is why we don't have samples of castings. Hope you understand.

@Lenwean

That's a beautiful miniature. I'm very interested.

As for sci-fi and not-plate armoured chicks, meh, if they can develop laser weapons and other fanciful techno gadgets in the future, who's to say the can't also develop protective body suits? I can always model my own armour on an unarmoured figure.
