After having used deep strike for my GK Terminators about 50 times or so, I have still never rolled a hit on the scatter die. That's a 1 in 3.
I am so unlucky that people have started cheering when I get a good roll, like they would cheer for a disabled kid that manages to walk from one end of the room to the other without any help.

I once had an absolutely blinged out, 270 point chapter master roll 1s on the first four armor saves he had to make, killing him before he even got within charge distance.

On the other hand though, I had a contemptor dread deny the witch 4 turns in a row.

I had an absolutely hilarious 500 point game where a lone rhino charged into a force that had 3 dark lances, none of which hit the entire game. His dice gods further trolled him when that same rhino tank shocked 2 units off the board.

I gave my opponent two victory points during the movement phase of the first turn of the game, and I was going first.

I was running a Rune Priest, and so I started off my turn by rolling for powers. I activate Prescience and roll the dice...double 6s. Priesty takes a wound. I activate Perfect Timing and roll the dice...double 1s. Priesty dies, giving my opponent Slay the Warlord and First Blood before he's rolled a single die.

In two turns I glanced my executioner tank to death with the plasma sponsons.

In the same game I rolled triple ones on the rerolls the turn my vendetta came in.

Also in the same game my Vanquisher missed every shot at BS4.

And finally my 2 hellhounds died to a melta bomb each without even glancing a rhino or killing a marine.

Can't say I had much fun

OK

I've had it happen twice where while playing daemons T1 I roll double sixes for the warpstorm, spawn a unit, they mishap, die, giving first blood to my opponent.

I had Be'Lakor perils his first 4 psychic powers of a game, killing himself...

I once had a 10 man cultist squad kill 3 GK terminators on overwatch.

Dice turned on me the other day. I get first turn with my dark angels and scout move my RW command squad up to kill some termies first turn. Initiative seized and bikes are sitting there in the open with a knight waiting to drop a big melta blast on them lost all but 1 RW and my librarians. That's ok I have 3 drop pods coming in with a bunch of melta to take out his 3 drednaughts 7 melta shots all miss. Ok I have my own knight with large melta blast. Nope scatters 8 inches hits nothing ah well I will charge em I only need 3 inches I roll a 2. rest of the game goes very much the same 5 meltas and 5 combi meltas the entire game only 1 hit all game.

I guess it made up for the last time I played him though when I passed 7 out of 8 feel no pains.

Krieg! What a hole...

An example of the dice gods trolling my friend

He had a Chaos lord who had his finest moment or whatever the rule's called in Apoc where he gets some bonuses, in that case a 3+ invuln, eternal warrior and instant death on his attacks. The lord had lost a wound previously, but that was it.

The dude was a a Juggerlord with the Axe of Blind fury and whatnot, just butchered through my squad of guardsmen, leaving him exposed to whatever we had left that could shoot at him, and it wasn't much.

One of those thing was a Grenadier squad, that I was expecting to be good enough, because AP3 and 2 melta guns, but it turns out his super buff lasts in both player turns.

So with some dread, I shoot at the guy, inflict 4 wounds, only for him to roll 1-1-2-4 for his saves, ending the lord right there.

Another one sprang to mind from a game I played recently. A blob of Orks (with an attached Biker Boss, no less) is in position to charge, and the unit is no more than a few inches away at its closest. The Ork player calls the Waaagh!, declares a charge, and after my overwatch kills a few Boyz, rolls a 3 for the distance, and we determined that he needed a 4. No problem, he's got Fleet, he rolls the dice again...and rolls a 3. Charge fails, and on the next turn, I promptly turn them to dust in the shooting phase. I felt kinda bad after that one.

I have avoided deep-striking for a while, but when I had an opportunity to drop a 10-model Terminator squad behind a Revenant titan, I figured I was good. and after all the saves I missed, you'd have figured I could have rolled low on scatter, right? nooooope... 11 inch scatter right off the edge of the table, followed with a 1 on the Mishap table.

thanks dice, you will be meeting the pavement soon enough...

I don't think I've posted on Dakka for anything other than a small campaign that happened but this thread gives me reason to at long last.

Previous Black Templar Codex, running a tag team tourney with me rocking a chaplain and EC. Neophyte brings a demon prince to the ground with a bolt pistol, EC challenges and kills the prince in single combat over the next two assault phases. EC and his squad jump back into their LRC and go Bloodthirster hunting, killing it next turn with nothing but Bolt Pistols. I was going to challenge it but oh well. Very next turn they roll a 4 on a 5 inch charge and get eaten by a soul grinder. Oh dice gods why did you abandon them.

My other favorite is fighting Tau, he had three riptides. All three had their drones just to see how well they do. I go first, pop one of the drones on a riptide. Needless to say it was right next to the table edge, failed morale, and I had first blood and a 240ish point kill. I have yet to see a Riptide with drones since.

Also there's the story I heard about the guy who uses a hammer nicknamed the Commissar to discipline his dice when they roll badly.

The dice gods are always trolling my hellbrute. I think in the 4 games I've used it in it's managed to hit twice and since I've upgraded it to a plasma cannon it hurts itself more than the enemy.

Mine most laughable...probably

Raptors went in front to my blob. Their flamers took few guardsmen. Because next turn he will charge my blob and I need him capable to shooting Helbrute with LC, for one turn I turn my mighty power of IG on five raptors. FRFSRF, eat this, scum of Chaos! It was huge pile of dice to hit. According to math I should be able with average rolls kill all those Raptors twice just by lasguns. Well, in the end, one Raptor fell...ONE! And the one fell because of boltgun of commisar...

Second was eldar jetbikes making all of their jink saves. He made cca 15 succesful jink saves in a row. Against lasguns, LC, blasts, large blasts, twinlinked LCs, everything my army threw at him... yeah, he literally gutted me because of it. In the final I scored two dead jetbikes just because I was angry and dropped flamers PCS on it just to prove I can kill at least one that damned machine.

I split off Dante and a chaplain from an assault squad that was holding an objective to go kill 6 ork boys on the objective 12" away.
I jump pack right next to them. In shooting, the chap throws a frag grenade while Dante shoots the melta pistol. Dante misses with BS 5, while the frag grenade scatters BEHIND the two marines.

They assault, and roll 2 inches. Good thing they were right next to them.

In the assault, the chaplain kills 2, and Dante waits to use his power axe. No wounds from the boys. Dante swings in with 6 str 5 reroll to hit ap2 attacks, hits all, fails to wound all.

Orks fail morale, and take off. Dante tries to sweep with init 6 vs init 2. I roll a 1, he rolls a 6, and they get away.

Same game, a blood lance librarian in Dante's squad got double 6 perils right when he landed for the lance, and on the following turn, got double 6 perils casting shield of sanguinius. He did pass a FNP, but the very first shot that came their way, I failed armor, failed FNP, failed LOS, and he died.

I'm really surprised I won that game.

My on-running dice moments:
-Mephiston takes 2 perils and a wound from his pistol getting hot EVERY game that I run him.
-Dante sucks at hit and run. I've failed it more than I've passed.
-Corbulo can't hit. I don't think I've ever had him hit with more than 1 attack.
-Anytime I've run astorath, all my successful red thirst rolls are 1's anyway.
-I can't pass saves against instant death on Multi wound characters. Doesn't matter how good of a save I have. If you peg a terminator captain, Dante, or Astorath with a krak missile, I WILL roll a 1. Guaranteed. In all my games with my BA, this rule has functioned with absolute 100% accuracy.

Another one that I though was funny was a game of whfb I watched. Lone chaos knight scores insane courage on his leadership in a fight against the New dwarves. He then breaks contact and runs to solid cover in the middle of the map. The dwarf guy figures he should try and finish him with his organ guns and pieplate cannon. And proceeds to throw his entire shooting phase away not killing a lone knight.

small unit of chaos marines (10 man squad that had taken a few casualties already) fires bolters at my vulkan at the edge of their range. 4 hits, 3 wounds and I roll 3 1s for saves. not only did I give up slay the warlord, but I lost vulkan's special rules before either of my LotD melta squads made it onto the table. that hurt...

I regularly immobilize my rhinos on difficult terrain. often on turn 1 and even when I have the dozer blades upgrade.

when I used to run a cc biker command squad, I would consistently lose two models to difficult terrain... roll a 1 for dangerous terrain, then fail a 3+ armor save, then fail FNP. to add insult to injury, it was usually one of the models with a storm shield. sigh.

I have a story from WHFB.

12 Chameleon skunks vs 16 bloodlettera.

24 shots, needs 6s to auto wound. Otherwise I hit on 5s and wounds on 5+.

Bloodletters had a 5+ save.

... I destroyed the unit utterly.

In 5th edition I borrowed my friend's Tzeentch dedicated Chaos army three different times. Quick history: my first army was Emperor's Children, favored Chaos god (would be Malal but since he's semi-cannon) is Slaanesh. Well Tzeentch must've known and been unhappy with me.

In every game I used them in I lost... bad. Terminators going down to like 1-2 AP- wounds each, Land Raiders eaten by 5th Ed Tyranid, ect. But the highlight was the final game. Every time I played, I used a different HQ. The last one I used was a Terminater-Lord who, his owner bragged, 'has never failed his daemon weapon.' He wouldn't hit/ wound anything when I used him and he failed his daemon weapon, not once but twice in the same game. The second time was to commit seppuku right in the middle of a fight with his last wound.

After that, I got my friend a new Chaos Terminator-Lord, painted him up in Emperor's Children colors and even modded long, flowing Sephiroth-hair on him (because Fulgrim is a Sephiroth Clone). I use this lord to 'hire out' his Chaos, because I learned Tzeentch hates me.

I've got another one, also way back in 5th Edition. My Guard Friend around that time was experimenting with grenade launchers. Every time I got close enough to charge the next turn, he'd move up and fire his squad, including a grenade launcher, at my Eldar. Every time he did this, the Grenade (always) scattered back onto the firing model. Of the half-dozen to a dozen times I've seen this, he made his (5+) armor save only once.

My friend no longer uses grenade launchers. Craftworld Eldar are apparently too scary for them to be effective.

Let me set the scene. He had got a little to close to my Dias of Destruction (yes i took one, it was a fun game ) and Vect jumped out by himself, leaving his Trueborn behind and he charged some Interceptors. They got 6 wounds on over watch and 3 from Incinerator, made all 2++ saves. Hit all with all attacks, wounded with all attacks, left one guy alive. Killed him Next turn. Ran up to the building hiding the Psycannon squads. He then shot me with something close to 20 strength 7 shots with prescience, made every. single. save. Inquisior took a pot shot with his Bolt Pistol and broke my shadowfield! I charged in next turn, he got 5 hits with psycannons on overwatch and 4 wounds. About to take him off when i was reminded of the ghost plate, Vect made 4 6++'s! Slaughtered Squad. Next turn threw his abyssal grenade, taking out 4 of the next squad, charged in and slaughtered his other squad and Warlord to.

Vect. Pimp of the century.

Okay, last one.

That just sounds like Archon Shilita. I'm not kidding, my DE friend's generic Archon has a track record of doing that kind of stuff, like a lot. First: Shilita is always fielded without a bodyguard or retinue. The funny thing is, every odd-numbered time you face Shilita, she will die ingloriously on turn 1 or 2. Her Shadowfield fails early, she never makes ghostplate saves and she's gone. When you re-match against her, (Every Even-numbered time you face my DE friend) she becomes an unstoppable, Dynasty Warriors Character. I'm not kidding, this has been happening for years now. She will make every save and slaughter everything with her agonizer. My friend has told me multiple stories about someone freaking out, mid-way through a game and pulling everything back, just to escape Shilita. The first time this happened, I thought he was exaggerating, that is until our SM Friend, my DE friend and myself grabbed a bite to eat and my SM friend starts freaking out about, how in two game turns he lost three whole squads to Shilita and had to waste a third turn running away so she wouldn't claim more. And he still couldn't kill her by focusing all his remaining fire on her.

I can't think of one of the dice gods trolling me - I make sure to make the appropriate sacrifices on a regular basis... needless to say it's getting harder to meet quota as there is now a shortage of cats in the neighborhood - but a number of my opponents regularly bemoan how they'll knock a squad of my immortals from 10 to 4 only to have me make all those RP rolls.

Yep, those 5's and 6's love me. I'm blessed by the dice gods... for now.

I rolled 7 1's for saves.

I also think I mentioned the game early in 6th with my Salamanders when a th/ss terminator sergeant killed a Nurgle bike lord in a challenge after 3 rounds of combat.

Well, didn't so much as kill him as the Lord fell on his daemon weapon...
