Are you going to be joining this dance Trodax?

I think my card is full this time around...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

If people pledge for that campaign, with these kind of terrible WIPs... honestly, I don't know what to say. You can't protect people from everything... if a person with no history and apparently not much skill is somehow getting them to pledge, then that is really on them at this point.

I mean, look at this:

What else is there to say? They must have had someone else do the mammoth in the last campaign, but the point is, they can't sculpt, and they're already committed to make a ton of sculpts and casts for a project just recently ended. If by a miracle they do so, people might consider supporting them, but as it is now I can't fathom who the 12 backers are who signed on for this...

The original sculpts *WERE* done by someone else, the guy who didn't get paid.

The optimist in me can at least see the beginnings of a decent figure in that giant Gompotherium, hoping beyond hope that my final choices aren't too play-doh looking.

The jaded kickstarter addict in me however sees another Defiance in the making, and I would happily be proven wrong in this regard.

ADW needs to run a Nightmare Fuel miniatures KS. They'd be successful at that.

That first WIP had "two hours" to go before completion and they finished up by adding... a tail:

Spoiler:

Band of Gnomes finished at under 3K, so it's likely or at least possible ADW will make their 2.5K goal.

Anyway, pinmini on the Reaper forums is the sculptor who didn't get paid. If you're still thinking of pledging to this company, contact him for his side of the story.

Ha, ha, no this is a dance I most certainly will sit out! I think I'll just stay right where I am, over here in the bar.

You are right, RiTides, there really isn't much more to say; I should probably just walk away from this stuff. I guess it's their confident arrogance that they have occasionally flashed that keeps me hooked, I kind of just want to find out if a) they're trying to fool people into pledging ("it's a WIP, trust me when I say it'll be awesome"), or b) they actually think these minis are good enough, and that people will be happy getting their giant sloth instead of the much, much more expensive one from Mierce, for example.

Good lord, there a better sculpts done by Mrs. Ward's third grade class on display at my public library.

I mean, some folks some to dig these sculpts, well and truly. I am glad they are pleased. But how do projects like this fail in comparison? Lower goals maybe?

The stuff by the original sculptor was excellent (but they didn't pay him). But the new under water/large land creature stuff is amateur at best.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Well, the most popular (eight of sixteen backers) pledge is the mushrooms, and they're going to have a cave set. Doesn't take rocket science to sculpt these sorta miniatures. There *is* a market for projects who do the labor you could do, so maybe that's the mentality. Really, I think the market for mushrooms *is* larger than alternate civil war. Sorta like how plastic cups sell more than fine crystal...

EDIT: AnimeSensei posted their latest sculpt on the Dwarven Forge forums.

Spoiler:

Oops, that wasn't it.
