If those are your first minis, then you are a future golden daemon(GW's painting competition) winner
But yeah, i am thinking to start crimson slaughter as well, maybe after flesh tearers

You are far too kind guys Here are some closeups on my first addition to dark vengeance 3 marines left to my next purchase Still not sure what it will be But giving it some thoughts Juggerlord is probably my no1 Still toying with idea of magnetizing Maulerfiend/Forgefiend tho But if i go with the Juggerlord i will definitely follow it with some Spawn

So i managed to get my hands on very cheap box of another marines a second hellbrute Too bad juggerlord has to wait

So im currently at DV models + 2 squads of 10 marines a extra hellbrute.

But i was wondering about the CAD thing. What bothers me is that i want to stick to Crimson Slaugther fluffwise, but i want go with Juggerlord with axe of blind fury next. Its not like i play tournaments or anything but i want to keep it fair and by the book. As i read some threads about it and if i understand correctly, i can just write to Juggerlord that hes from Codex:CSM and thats it ? And keep rest crimson slaugther ?

Thanks Yep, those are first thing like that i ever done I suppose i was pretty close to something like that when i was as kid doing colouring book But thats pretty much it

But about the CAD.. like i said im not experienced player by a long shot.. i would like to keep the game balanced. And i cant tell yet if i do something like that i could turn the game in my favor. And im pretty competitive person myself when it comes to any kind of games and so i wouldnt like if somebody did it to me ( i mean without telling , otherwise i wouldnt mind i guess) So i want to be clear if army like that would be against the rules or not you know

Yea thats what i thought so too by common sense and after reading Crimson Slaugther supplement, but after reading some topics here on dakka im not sure anymore, because BRB says that you can use in one CAD unit of one faction, thats the only restriction. Faction is defined as codex + supplements in BRB too. So you can have in one CAD units from CSM codex and from Crimson Slaughter supplement. At least thats how guys interpret it here on forum.. So im kinda lost

I had to read that over like 5 times, but I think they are right and I am wrong.

Let me back off here and recommend you post this question to the You Make the Call forum.

Having non-Crimson Slaughter units in a Crimson Slaughter detachment leads to all kind s of weird questions, like do they get Fear, can they take non-Crimson Slaughter artifacts, etc.

One thing you'll learn about GW is they're not very good at making clear rules, which is why my gaming group makes our own rulings on murky areas like this.

Sorry if I added to your confusion, and good luck, Michelangelo!

I can't believe these are your first minis.

I don't think my latest Cadian who am I exceptionally proud of (even made him my DP!) is even close.

Kudos to you sir, should we ever meet on the field of battle my loyal marines would have to as a matter of course put your foul traiters to the sword, I would feel a twinge of guilt about killing such well painted minis though..

Hey man. I posted this question (and another of my own) to the You Make the Call Forum, because I want to know the answer just like you, if there is an answer.

I just rejoined and bought the DV set as well. I went for Alpha Legion, but I see you're going down the Khorne path! However, if you've got two Helbrutes you might consider the Helbrute dataslate - it gives you the ability to have a Deep Striking squad of Helbrutes.

Kudos on the paint job!

This

Also that dataslate has a cool formation that makes Cultists worship a Helbrute and gives both the Cultists and the Helbrute they worship some goodies (and they are not throwaway goodies, they are worth having).

Ill be definitely checking that thanks

About those hellbrute dataslates... im looking forward to try out the helcult one The deepstriking one would be pretty much overkill as me and my friend play around 700-800 point games right now But in future i can imagine it can get usefull to jump next to some vehicles or sumthing as i rly like the basic setup multimelta/fist

So my friend got Dark Talon/Jetfighter he aint sure witch one to pick so hes thinking about magnetizing it so he can use both. It seem like that flayer has some scary firepower Wonder if my 2 Brutes a and 2x plasma 2x melta on my CSM marines can handle this thing Ive got some plasma pistols too, but im not counting them as they may not be in range always.. what do you think guys ? Shoul i be worried ?

Some time has passed so i would like to let you know where iam at the moment and where my next step should be

So to already mentioned i've got next helbrute So deep striking helbrutes are now unlocked Still havent tryed it yet tho. Just fyi i did my first conversion on my last guy so he got power scourge instead of fist. I will take some pics later Im pretty pleased with the final result.

Also Belakor is on his way from the UK to join my forces. And recently i assembled 3 Oblits They dont fit my future rush list that much but i managed to get them pretty cheap so why not

And xmas is coming and i got feeling that my gf is going to give me Heldrake So thats about my army right now

I hope i can paint up all my current stuff during the holiday and i wonder what then

Any ideas what would give my list some more punch? I pretty much know i need rhino or better 2 of them. But anything else ? I wonder maybe something that would be good target to cast invis with my belakor ? Because currenty i think he will be biggest threat in my army so i think i will need to invis himself.

The Obliterators will work out good for you. I also like Havoc squads, (WARNING: the current GW Havoc squad set is BS....you'd want Lascannons and Missile Launchers IMO). Sometimes Vindicators are nice to play with. Also, I've never played with a Heldrake, but I see on these boards very frequently that they are one of the best units in the Codex, so nudge your gf into getting you one!

Also, Chaos Spawn usually work out good for me. I'd recommend 100% conversions for them...get creative with them, it's Chaos! (I have a friend who uses toy frogs and dinosaurs and stuff like that, greenstuffs them up, adds little bits and spikes and barbs...they look cool, wish I had pictures)

If I might make a suggestion as to your next purchase. Consider getting yourself a Cypher model. he is crazy good on his own, can bring some awesome allies with him when he teams up with CSM and adds a lot of new interesting rules and tactics when you bring him against a Dark Angels and dark angels seems to be your main opponent, I think you friend might appreciate that your addition of him adds new tactics to his side as well.

Helcult is crazy good for tarpiting. I run 70 Cultists and a vanilla Helbrute.

More Cultists is always a good idea! Fearless is better, but Fearless and Hatred is best!

I have personal experience that a large group of cultists can be rather nasty. I've lost a good number of strong units and characters to them and have found new respect for seeing them on the table.
Them plus a couple of Hellbrutes go a long way to ruining my well thought out plans.

In my last game, my Helcult killed Typhus and charged some very surprised Khorne Berzerkers.

Those are really nice models! I'd recommenced some heavy support, maybe some obliterators, they're massively solid on the tabletop. Or maybe you want to try your hand at converting, pick up some space marine devastators and convert them into havocs, as the havocs box set doesn't allow for much customization. If you want some fast attack choices, a heldrake like you said is pretty damn good, bikers are good (especially with nurgle mark), and spawn are great as well.

I have to say you have really quality painting for a beginner! Are there any particular tutorials you have been reading/watching?

Regarding the obliterator, have you considered the fleshmetal to be painted more as metal than flesh? or maybe just your red colour mixed with flesh?

I always think something doesn't look quite right with obliterators/mutilators covered with splodges of flesh.

Thanks

Not really, only one that comes to mind is Apathetic Fish https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96bRYOvMED4&list=UUG2Wj3xRJPqAAOOsJ5Q6ssQ

And i think i used only this guide for Cultist. That was the first guy i started with From there i went by myself

Hmm.. i kinda like that look. I always thought of it as the flesh just grow through the armor so i just followed GW but with my colors.

But i can see where you are coming from. Wonder how it would look on these models.
