Well, I decided to bite the bullet and get a Contemptor Mortis Dreadnought with two Kheres Assault Cannons and a Cyclone Missile Launcher. Lots of points, but lots of versatility. The fact it can deal with threats turn one both in the air and on the ground. The fact I saw two of them at the FLGS was a turning point.

Sorry for the bump, but I have a question regarding the Contemptor Mortis. Imperial Armour Apocalypse: Second Edition has its points cost at 155 pts (less than the normal Contemptor?), is this the correct value? Also, the Drop Pod rules in Codex: Space Marines says that it can serve as a transport for one Dreadnought. A Contemptor would technically qualify for this, as it is a Dreadnought. Am I correct in thinking this?

Correct, though if you drop in you won't have Skyfire or interceptor since you count as moving combat speed.

I found the most up to date rules on the contemptor-mortis. They did up the points cost to 175, it appears. Also, it explicitly can only use a Lucius pattern drop pod.
