Back in my stores last campaign, I wish I had an Ork army.

The Kill Team rules were 250 points, 125 must be from Troops, up to 125 could be from Elites. No (jet)bikes, max of 3 models on 40mm bases, nothing on larger. Did not have to meet minimum unit requirements, unless the unit wanted upgrades (for example you could take 2 Tac Marines, however, they could not purchase any upgrades).

I would have fielded 250 pts of Grots. No Runtherds. Just Grots.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Despite them not being scoring, he still managed to win a game. And it was an objective mission.

I want to seee it too.

I tried to working out a Tau melee list.

Double CAD

Farsight (Cad 2 Farsight)
Commander with stims/shiled/iridium/repulser impact field/ Donkey Punch Gauntlent/ 2 shield drones (CAD1 Tau)
Commander with Fusion blades/stims/shield/mirror codex/2 shield drones (Cad 2 Farsight)
Shadowsun with 2 3++ drones (CAD1 TAU)

then take whatever else you want to make it work and legal. but thats not a half bad CC unit with the ability to jump 3D6 if shadowsun is warlord.

Also for Messy0

Aun'Va
primarily there for the awesome benefits of the Elements he can spray out to his followers as they march to war). Aun'Va is really key to the force and should be protected by the next dude on the list:

XV-02 Commander (Airburst Frag Launcher, Drone Controller, 2 marker Drones, Retro-Thrusters,Stim Injector, Onager Gauntlet, Neuroweb System Jammer).
He is extremely hard to kill, and makes an admirable bodyguard. His Pinning and horde killing ability are valuable for an army that must whittle before engaging

3 Crisis Suits (Shas'Vre has 2 Flamers +Drone Controller, +4 Marker Drones, +2 Shield Drones. All Shas'ui carry TL Flamer and a Flamer)

3 Crisis Suits (Shas'Vre has 2 Flamers + Drone Controller, +4 Marker Drones, +2 Shield Drones. All Shas'ui carry TL Flamer and a Flamer)

3 Crisis Suits (Shas'Vre has 2 Flamers + Drone Controller, +4 Marker Drones, +2 Shield Drones. All Shas'ui carry TL Flamer and a Flamer)

The Crisis Team form the shock troops of the Tau Empire and in this case, they burninate the universe before them, most often from Reserves in some way shape or form.

3 x 9 Fire Warrior teams (Carbines and EMP Grenades)
1 x 8 Fire Warrior Team (Carbines and EMP Grenades)

All these Fire Warriors are trained to fear nothing in Aun'Va's presence and their willingness to approach and be approached by the enemy makes the Carbine the natural choice as they fully intend to charge when called upon to protect their Aun, whatever the cost. Drop Pods will be unpleasantly surprised by the Fire Warriors ability to nuke them and the broadsides and flamer heavy Crisis teams can generally handle such armies by NOT reserving.

2 x 9 Vespid Stingwing teams(Strain Leader)

The stingWings are elite in their ability to handle heavy weapons threats at the enemy rear, and their synergy with dropping Crisis teams is undeniable.

XV8 Broadside Shas'Vre (Seeker Missile, TL Plasma, TL Heavy Rail Rifle, Velocity Tracker, 2 Shield Drone)

XV8 Broadside Shas'Vre (Seeker Missile, TL Plasma, TL High Yield Missile Pods, Velocity Tracker, 2 Shield Drone)

XV8 Broadside Shas'Vre (Seeker Missile, TL Plasma, TL Heavy Rail Rifle, Velocity Tracker, 2 Shield Drone)

These Monsters (identify that reference?) are responsible for patrolling the skies and knocking out the predators therein; or trundling forward and blunting enemy offensives against the Fire Warriors and their wards. However, against TEQ armies, their job is to knock out the very dangerous Terminators and similar threats that often form the most pressing concern for this type of army. The singular High Yield Missile Pod Broadside provides a valuable path clearing unit should the Tyranid hordes be quicker than the reserve rolls for the Crisis teams and as a fairly reliable transport killer if his two brethren fail in their duty...and they rarely do (basically only on a 2 to penetrate dothey fail to halt enemy APC advances).

Haha well it was actually pretty fun because everyone brought space marines and terminators (since we didn't "house rule" out 2+ armor)

Once I tried a thematic list: 3 Tomb Spyders (the melee ones from FW) + 3 Canoptek Spyders + a lot of scarabs + 1 Lord + 2 Warriors (needed 1 hq and 2 troops) against some GK (1 purgation squad + libby, some assassins and a dreadknight). It didn't bode well for the necrons.

nowadays you need at least 3 models for kill team

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion & X-Wing: CIS / WWX: Union

1000 point infantry guard list with a fortress of redemption. Every squad not in the fortress had melta bombs. Since 6th you never owned a fortification, you could charge a fortification. So you assault the fortress you are standing on, melta bomb it, and have the whole army die from explosion, jump down, or building collapse effects.

A Tyranid army with a Tervigon HQ. It had no characters, so the warlord could be anything.

Therefore the mighty spore mine lead its gribbly hordes to glorious victory. And suicidal explosions.

Actually it's kind of funny, as spore mines have a rule saying you don't get any victory points for killing them. So you (arguably) can't score a point for slaying the warlord. (it's still a very silly idea, and totally not worth it in a serious game).

In an apoc game during 5th where everybody brought 10000 points, one guy deployed 4 battlewagons and nothing else.

They were largely ignored since he didn't put deff rollas on them and they were titans, stompas and baneblades everywhere to shoot.

When he managed to reach the enemy's lines, he disembarked nothing but AOBR warbosses, some KFF meks and Thrakka out of his wagons, charged half the their army and killed five super-heavies plus a lot of other stuff in a single round of combat.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
