I'm not sure what the point would be... If something is already available from Forgeworld, I would rather see GW release something new.

Astartes:
Sicaran tank- what the Predator should be.

IG:
Thunderbolt fighter- give the Valk/Vendetta strafing run and a rule that lets them only snapshoot at fliers. Then have the Thunderbolt as a proper fighter

Tau:
Barracuda- a proper strike fighter

Orks:
Squiggoth with Howdah- a Monstrous creature transport

Dark Eldar:
Tantalus- a large "Land Raider" transport compared to the "Rhino" Raider or the "Razorback" Venom roles.

Eldar:
Scorpion/Cobra superheavy tank as a Lord of War

CSM:
Dreadclaw, using Drop pod rules. Instead of inertial guidance though, it should have something like the Mawloc rule of damaging what it lands on.

Necrons:
Tomb Stalker

I'd like to see the Barracuda in the main Tau line, I have no clue why the didn't snag that, instead of the stupid looking "pirhana with wings" flyers they went with.

Ultimately, this is the case, no matter what we may wish for. Games Workshop don't borrow Forge World designs any more, since the Valkyrie (the one and only time they did migrate something).

The 'Flying Piranha' Tau flyers exist in their current state because Forge World had already covered the Barracuda and Tigershark. There wasn't an opening in the range for another air superiority fighter or drone carrier.

This is the same thing that gave us the Heldrake instead of the Hell Talon, and gave us Storm Ravens instead of Thunderhawks (although that also has shades of 'super-heavy allergy' about it).

The drop pod really belongs in the 'same unit, different model' category. Externally they're more or less the same, but the interiors were very different (Forgeworld pods only held 5 marines or a weapon) and they had different rules IIRC.

This does seem unfortunately to be true, but I wish they would distinguish between models they created and models they ported from Epic. IMO it seems to be a reasonable expectation that iconic units should be more freely available.

With that in mind I would choose the Thunderbolt and the Thunderhawk.

All I really want is something simple. Let have some Tau Heavy Gun Drones. I would love to get a squad or two of those going.

I will also second the idea of just having more unique looking troops being more generally availabe (i.e. Death Crop) It would be cool to get some of the modified Tau battlesuits too to be able to vary things up.
Thanks,

Failing that, the sicaran, the Typhon/fellblade and the scorpius. especially the scorpius. it's what the marines need!

The Tyranid unit you are thinking of is the Trygon.

I would like to see the Malanthrope have a general release. That model is really just necessary to build a competitive Tyranid army, but buying direct from FW is prohibitively expensive.

The books.

I would be willing to buy way more stuff from Forge World if only I could get the books necessary to use them easily (read: without waiting for the mail; I'm impatient )

That seems a little counter-intuitive.

You'll have to wait for any models you get from FW anyway. Why would waiting for books the exact same amount of time be a deal breaker?

Because I like reading about models before I buy them.

And because books are more eminently useful than models - I can read them on an airplane, at school, on the bus, etc.

So just buy a couple of the books and deal with a couple weeks wait.

That is, in fact, what I do. But this thread is about what item we want to see in general release, and for me, that's the books.

Building my Mechanicus army went like this: Buy books, pay shipping, wait weeks. Buy a few models, pay shipping, wait weeks. Buy more models after trying the list, probably not pay shipping (because of the 250 pound thing), wait weeks. Then start having fun games .

ATM, you could cut the entire first step off and even remove the second step, if I just could buy the books first and flip through them and talk them over with friends and whatnot. It would go to:

Buy books, play some games with proxy models, then buy a lot of models (avoiding shipping again because of breaking 250 pounds), wait weeks, then have fun games.

You could literally halve the time it took to build an army, even if you use proxy models to test the list.

I like the Thunderbolt, I'd love a squadron of them, not enough to spend £255 on it

Eh... no thanks.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

I disagree with this. Resin, done right, is much easier to assemble than plastic. A resin kit of the same vehicle will typically have a lot fewer parts and the mold lines are easier to remove. Since most of the difficulty in assembling a model is cleaning up mold lines, filling gaps between parts, etc, rather than gluing all of the parts together I'd much rather have the resin version of a kit.

And as for cost, you get what you pay for. Plastic, at least in the context of GW plastic kits, means lower quality and less detail. I'd rather pay a little extra for an awesome model than get a cheaper model that doesn't look as nice.

I disagree. Maybe it's because I've been collecting plastic model aircraft since I was 7, but I find plastic kits better to work with. They'll both have mould lines, I find it easier to remove the lines off plastic. Plastic can potentially have more gaps to fill depending on the model, true, but resin parts frequently don't fit perfectly and take more work shaving to get a proper fit. Plastic can be more of a pain in the arse when it's warped, but resin is warped more frequently and for small parts this can just be annoying. So often you see resin models, even professionally done ones, with flaccid gun barrels. Several of my DKOK have bent swords/guns that no matter how many times I try and straighten them end up warped again, and it's just the tiniest bit of warping but it's noticeable and annoys me.

It obviously depends on the resin and plastic being compared, but when it comes to small parts and/or parts that are supposed to be straight, I usually prefer plastic.

I also prefer plastic for conversions, but I guess that's just a personal thing. I usually find I can do more with plastic than resin. Again depends on the type of plastic/resin being compared though.

And as for cost, you get what you pay for. Plastic, at least in the context of GW plastic kits, means lower quality and less detail. I'd rather pay a little extra for an awesome model than get a cheaper model that doesn't look as nice.
Depends on the model I suppose. I don't think a Thunderbolt would look any worse in plastic than resin. DKOK I'm sure would look much worse.

Plastic thunderhawk, so C:SM, C:BA, C:SW and C:GK all have a superheavy they don't need to ally in for their ranges. It kind of surprises me that they decided to not release a super heavy for their biggest selling line(s). Oh, and I guess C:CSM could use it too...

Or a Plastic Warhound, so all of the Imperium Factions plus C:CSM could make use of it. You know, hit all of their most popular things at once.
