+1 for Bolt Action.

The black rage is within us all. Lies offer no shield against it. You speak of donning the black of duty for the red of brotherhood; but it is the black of rage you shall wear when the end comes.

Bolt action mate. Cheap, easy and fun.

Just get 2 starter armies and the books and you are set with heaps of stuff. Using the basic infantry kits you can make a lot of the units available and expand further without spending too much.

Bolt Action is the new shiny at the moment. So even if your Dad loses interest you can still find plenty of other players.

I recommend Battlegroup for WWII myself.

And it being a historical wargame you can easily use the models for a different rule set if Bolt Action doesn't float your boat.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

AlexHolker: "The power loader is a forklift. The public doesn't complain about a forklift not having frontal armour protecting the crew compartment because the only enemy it is designed to face is the OHSA violation."

AlexHolker: "Allow me to put it this way: Paramount is Skynet, reboots are termination attempts, and your childhood is John Connor."

I'll +1 for FoW, but I did just get in to. I really like the rules for Bolt Action to and I'm looking at that. I have built an American force and German force using 15mm. This let's me use the vehicles from FoW and I basically have models for two games.

Nice thread here on 15mm Bolt Action:
